Roadrunners Focused on the Future at the 2024 Career Fair

March 15, 2024

Roadrunners are always on the move, and last week, they headed to the Bradley Center for the 2024 Career Fair. More than 450 students registered for the event to learn about internship and job opportunities.

The college-wide fair helps students to explore opportunities not only in their own field of interest, but others, which aligns with Ramapo’s liberal arts approach to education. Prior to 2018, a career fair for each school was offered. More than 70 companies set up tables with brochures, ready to not only share industry information, but to learn about the students and their interests. “The air was vibrant and optimistic,” said LaQuan Norman, director of the Cahill Career Development Center.

That vibrancy was palpable to all, including business representatives who attended. Sharp Electronics shared that the students “were extremely prepared.” Doherty Enterprises said, “This was an excellent event, from the greeters in the parking lot to the last student, the students were very well prepared, polite and engaging.”

Erica Gray ’24 secured a summer internship with Reckitt by attending the 2023 RCNJ Career Fair on campus.

The annual college-wide fair has a strong track record at securing positions for Ramapo students. Last year, Erica Gray ’24 attended the 2023 fair and accepted a position as an e-commerce intern in the Health Business Unit for Reckitt. As an intern, Erica was assigned a project to work on for the summer that deals with Amazon. She said it gave her “a chance to have real hands-on experience with huge brands, as well as the biggest E-commerce platform in the world,” and added that she “will definitely walk away with enhanced Excel skills, a true understanding of what it is like to work in a corporate environment, as well as a better comprehension of sales analytics and its importance.”

The Careers in Service Fair is fast approaching! Head over to Friends Hall on Wednesday, April 3 between 1:00 & 3:00pm.
