Avraham Groll

MAHWAH, N.J. – On February 2 at 7 p.m. Avraham Groll, executive director of JewishGen-The Global Home for Jewish Genealogy, will be in conversation about “Using JewishGen to Research Your Roots – Including Holocaust Related Information” with Jerry Zaks, a retired technology expert, who has done just that. The program will take place under the auspices of The Gross Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and will be delivered remotely via Zoom. All wishing to attend may register at: https://bit.ly/3G2NCYm

JewishGen serves as the global home for Jewish genealogy. Featuring unparalleled access to millions of records, it offers unique search tools, along with opportunities for researchers to connect with others who share similar interests.

Award-winning resources such as the Discussion Group, Family Finder, and ViewMate are relied upon by thousands each day. In addition, JewishGen’s extensive informational, educational and historical offerings, such as the Jewish Communities Database, Yizkor Book translations, InfoFiles, and KehilaLinks, provide critical insights, first-hand accounts, and context about Jewish communal and familial life throughout the world.

Offered as a free resource, JewishGen.org has facilitated thousands of family connections and success stories, and is currently engaged in an intensive expansion effort that will bring many more records, tools, and resources to its collections. JewishGen’s Holocaust Database is a collection of databases containing information about Holocaust victims and survivors.  It contains more than 3.69 million records, from more than 380 component datasets.

Avraham Groll is passionate about connecting people with their Jewish roots and helping them experience what it means to be part of the Jewish people. He holds an MBA from Montclair State University, an M.A. in Judaic Studies from Touro College, a B.S. in Business Administration from Ramapo College, and a certificate in Executive Leadership from Columbia University. Avraham spent two years studying at Yeshiva Ohr Yerushalayim in Israel and is a frequent lecturer on a variety of Jewish genealogical and historical topics.
