(Mahwah) – The Cashore Marionettes will present a family performance depicting humorous and poignant scenes from everyday life through touching character portrayals at Ramapo College of New Jersey Sunday, January 27 at 3 p.m. in the Sharp Theater.

From horse to elephant, homeless man to violinist, the group’s artistry, grace and refinement of movement redefine the art of puppetry.  Award winning visual artist and puppeteer Joseph Cashore studied portrait and figure painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  Among his grants and awards are a Pew Fellowship for Performance Art, a Henson Foundation Grant to promote puppetry to adult audiences and a Citation of Excellence awarded by UNIMA, the oldest international theater organization in the world.  Cashore has been designing and performing his remarkable marionettes for over 30 years.

Tickets are $20, $18 and $15 for adults and $12 for children under 17.  Senior citizens will receive a five percent discount off regular prices.  For more information call 201.684.7844.

This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
