Business and Financial Roundtable to Discuss: ‘Temporary Economic Upswing or Long-Term Prosperity?’

(Mahwah) – A panel of financial analysts and experts will discuss the economic future of New Jersey businesses at the 2004 Business and Financial Outlook Roundtable,” Thursday, December 4 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Ramapo College of New Jersey. The panelists for the evening are Warren Boroson, financial columnist for the Daily Record and author of Pick Stocks Like Warren Buffett and The Ultimate Mutual Fund Guide; Dwight Carey, managing member, American Productivity Group, LLC; Gene Epstein, economics editor of Barron’s; Richard Goldberg, president of the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey; Beth Gorin, president of the Bergen County Economic Development Corporation; John Murphy, former CNBC technical analyst and editor of www.murphymorris.com; Jim Rogers, author of Adventure Capitalist and business correspondent for Fox News’ Your World with Neil Cavuto, and George Taber, president of NJBIZ magazine.

Ramapo College’s Center for Business and Public Policy and the Ramapo College Business Network are presenting the roundtable. Ernst & Young LLP is the event’s sponsor. Dr. Murray Sabrin, executive director of the Center for Business and Public Policy and a professor of finance at Ramapo College, will moderate the roundtable. We’ve assembled an outstanding panel of analysts who can provide a sound analysis of current economic business conditions,” he notes. One focus is whether we’re in a temporary economic upswing or a long-term period of prosperity.”

Sabrin believes the roundtable, the first in what will become an annual event, provides the public with an opportunity to hear nationally known experts discuss current and future economic trends and how they affect business and personal portfolios.”

He adds, The first part of the program will focus on where we’ve been in terms of the local, state and national economic climate. The second part of the roundtable explores prospects New Jersey businesses face in a the years ahead and the outlook for the bond, stock and international markets.”

The Center for Business and Public Policy at Ramapo College provides a nonpartisan forum for the examination of issues that affect the economic well being and quality of life of New Jersey’s citizens. The Center’s focus is on taxation, health care, education and business regulation. The Center hosts colloquia, workshops, conferences and other programs, and publishes journals and papers.
