Maureen Mcgovern will Perform at Ramapo College

(Mahwah) – Maureen McGovern, whose career includes recordings, concerts, Broadway, films, television and radio will perform Saturday, October 21 at 8 p.m. in the Sharp Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.

McGovern’s recording career began with the chart-topping Academy Award winning Gold Record The Morning After” from The Poseidon Adventure and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.”  This was followed by another Oscar-winning Gold Record, We May Never Love Like This Again” from The Towering Inferno.  Other hit records include the John Wiliams and Leslie Bricusse love theme Can You Read My Mind?” from the motion picture Superman and Different Worlds,” the theme from the ABC television series Angie.”

The songstress has garnered accolades for her appearances with several prestigious American symphony orchestras.  McGovern performed for years at Rockefeller Center’s Rainbow & Stars in New York City and in cross-country tours with Mel Tormé, Mercer Ellington and the Duke Ellington Orchestra and recently, a 36-city tour with John Pizzarelli.

Tickets for Maureen McGovern’s performance are $28, $24 or $20 for adults, a 5% discount for senior citizens and $15 for children under 17.  The Sharp Theater is located at the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus.  For more information call (201) 684 – 7844.
