(Mahwah) – Eliza Jane Schneider, the voice of most of the female characters on Comedy Central’s animated series South Park, will bring her unique comedic perspective to the Adler Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey for a series of shows on July 28, 29, and 31 at 7:30 p.m. and on August 1 at 3 p.m.

In Schneider’s self-penned, one-woman play, Speaking In Tongues, she portrays 30 characters based on her experiences traveling the country in an ambulance and asking everyone she met: What’s going on?” The performance is for mature audiences.

Speaking In Tongues is a true story. Schneider cashed in her assets, quit a lucrative job on an Emmy-winning sitcom, shaved her head, and set off on a cross-country quest in a second-hand ambulance. Along the way, she stopped at beauty parlors, swimming holes, bars, street corners and churches, asking everyone she met the question, What’s going on?” Ten years later, with 1,000 interviews and 317,000 miles logged, she has compiled the responses.

Schneider has also voiced numerous denizens of the deep in PIXAR’s Finding Nemo and is known on-camera for her role on CBS’s Beakman’s World. Her stage credits include the titles roles in Antigone and Agnes of God. She is working on the publication of her research on the dialects of spoken English with renowned dialectologist, Robert Easton.

Tickets for Speaking In Tongues are $10 for adults and $5 for youth. For more information or to order tickets by phone with a major credit card, call the Box Office at 201.684.7844.
