(Mahwah) – The York Room Salon Series presents The Beauty of the Solo Guitar featuring Brad Richter Sunday, May 6 at 3 p.m. in the York Room in the Birch Mansion on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Recognized as one of the leading guitarists and guitar composers of the 21st century, Richter has reinvigorated the guitar repertoire with a freshness and unaffectedness that transcends preconceived genres.  His solo performance includes works from the American folk and jazz songbooks, original compositions and classical pieces written for guitar.

Throughout North America and Europe, Richter has performed as a soloist with chamber ensembles and in duos with artists such as Grammy winning cellist, David Finckel of the Emerson String Quartet.  His performances and compositions are frequently heard on NPR and PBS stations and he has also written and performed the score for the Emmy award winning PBS television series, The Desert Speaks.
