Jay Ungar and Molly Mason, The Heart and Soul of American Roots Music, at Ramapo College

(Mahwah) – The Ramapo Mountain Stage series presents “The Heart and Soul of American Roots Music” featuring Jay Ungar and Molly Mason Friday, March 16 at 8 p.m. in the Sharp Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.

Jay and Molly won international acclaim with their haunting rendition of “Ashokan Farewell,”the musical hallmark of Ken Burns’ PBS series “The Civil War.”  This winning duo has introduced American acoustic music to people of all ages, and they bring their timeless sound to the Berrie Center with a program of Appalachian, Cajun and Celtic fiddle tunes, sassy songs from the golden age of swing and country, romantic waltzes and their own compelling originals.

Tickets for the Ramapo Mountain Stage series featuring Jay Ungar and Molly Mason are $24, $20 or $18 for adults, a five percent discount for senior citizens and $15 for children under 17.  The Sharp Theater is located at the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus.  For more information call 201.684.7844.
