MAHWAH – The American Place Theatre’s Literature to Life Series will present “The Kite Runner” at Ramapo College of New Jersey in March.

From the best-selling first novel by Khaled Hosseini about contemporary Afghanistan to be written in English, this one-hour adaptation portrays the relationship of two boys on the opposite ends of society–Amir, a privileged Pashtun and Hassan, a Hazara servant.  Surprising events occur with the backdrop of 1970s Afghanistan.  The book was adapted and directed for the stage by Wynn Handman.  The performance, which features Arian Moayed or Sorab Wahida, is recommended for book groups.

The Kite Runner” will be presented Sunday, March 1 at 3 p.m. in the Sharp Theater on the campus of Ramapo College of New Jersey.  All seats are $10.  The Sharp Theater is located in the Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus.  For more information call 201.684.7844.

This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
