Ramapo College to Host a Benefit Concert for Haiti Relief

(MAHWAH, N.J.) – Ramapo College of New Jersey will be hosting a benefit concert for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti. The “Haiti: Ramapo Cares” Benefit Concert will be held on Thursday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m., in the Sharp Theater in the Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College campus.

The Ramapo College Chorale, CantaNOVA and Skylark will join special guest The Three Part Invention Bluegrass Band, as well as various student bands, Haitian guests and more for the benefit. Concert proceeds will be used for a Haiti scholarship program, which was a major initiative of the Ramapo Haiti Relief Committee, a group of students, faculty and staff whom have been meeting regularly since the earthquake in Haiti to develop realistic ways the Ramapo Community can aid in the relief efforts. The Haiti Scholarship program will sponsor two Haitian students to attend Ramapo College on a full scholarship.

The “Haiti: Ramapo Cares” Benefit Concert tickets are on sale now through the Berrie Center Box Office, and are $20 for premium seating, $10 for adults and $5 for students. The concert is sponsored by the Ramapo Chorale, the Student Government Association (SGA) and the Music Entertainment and Industry Student Association (MEISA) in conjunction with the Ramapo Haiti Relief Committee. The concert is open to the public.
