MAHWAH – The Hawthorne Symphony will perform an afternoon of Beethoven and Wagner in February.

Under the direction of conductor John Minkoff, this rich and eclectic performance features musicians from the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera and other notable metro-area musical institutions.  The performance will feature Julliard pianist Jennifer Chu accompanied by internationally renowned vocalists.

John Minkoff organized the Hawthorne Symphony in 2000.  The group is composed of professional musicians from the New York/New Jersey area who routinely perform with soloists from Julliard, The Metropolitan Opera and The Manhattan School of Music.  The symphony is sponsored by the Louis Bay 2nd Library of Hawthorne.

The Hawthorne Symphony will perform Sunday, February 22 at 3 p.m. in the Sharp Theater, located in The Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for the Performing and Visual Arts.  Tickets cost $22, $19 and $15 for adults and $12 for children under 17.  Senior citizens will receive 5% off regular ticket prices.  To order tickets, call the box office at 201.684.7844.
