IGG relies on individuals who have uploaded their DNA profiles to consumer genetic genealogy databases and opted in to IGG searching. Every new DNA profile added to the databases expands the ability of our IGG practitioners to provide leads in more cases.

Currently, people of Western European descent are the most well-represented in the databases, so cases involving individuals from that population are more likely to be solved. To expand the reach of IGG to other populations, individuals from those populations will need to upload their DNA profiles to the databases.
