Education

Elena Yee (Pronouns: she/her/hers) holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, a Master of Arts Degree in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College (IL) and a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rhode Island College. She also has received Accreditation for College & University Suicide Prevention through the American Association of Suicidology, is trained in the EMDR Flash Technique and in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Relevant Experience

Elena is the LGBTQIA+ liaison for the campus and has been a Psychological Counselor at Ramapo College since 2022. Elena worked as a psychological counselor at Alfred University and Marist College in providing individual and group therapy, training and outreach. Elena did her internship at Bryant University. Elena has also worked in Student Affairs as a director in DEI to support student leaders and organizations, and advocate for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ students.

Professional Interests

Increasing access to counseling for LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and other marginalized populations, assessing and reducing suicidality , and advocating for more diverse representation in college counseling staffing

Personal Interests

Tackling a new recipe, reading mystery novels. being an auntie to her human nieces and dog niece and nephew, talking to friends from afar, and, most of all, spending time with her partner.
