FYS Class:
Class of: 2028
Major/Minor: Psychology Major, Contemplative Studies Minor
Resident/Commuter: Resident
Favorite Class: My favorite class was Gender and Sexualities, taught by Professor Maya Poran! It is an amazing introductory course on not only the obvious subject matter, but also a guide on broadening social awareness, empathy for others, and expanding worldly knowledge. It is a perfect representation of one of the biggest fundamentals of college education: it teaches you how to think, not what to think!
Favorite Place on Campus: My favorite place on campus is the Grove! I love being able to sit there between classes when the weather is nice.
Clubs/Organizations: I am apart of the Ramapo College Dance Company and I am a Mindfulness Ambassador on campus!
Future Plans: I plan to go to graduate school in order to get my masters in Psychology or Social Work so I can follow my dream to become a therapist for young adults!
Favorite Inspirational Quote: “Keep calm and stay the course.”
Advice for First-Year Students: It is your time to do all the things! Coming to college is a huge step, so make the most of your time here. Make those friends, join that club, pick up that hobby that you always told yourself you could never do. You will thank yourself when you step of your comfort zone and finally abandon the fear of failure.
