Betsy Castillo

FYS Class:

Class of: 2028

Major/Minor: Medical Imaging

Resident/Commuter: Commuter

Favorite Class: Anatomy Lab, because my professor keeps it engaging while making sure we know everything. He makes it a lot easier by giving real-life examples.

Favorite Place on Campus: The library because it helps me stay focused on doing schoolwork and studying. Also because it has Starbucks :)

Clubs/organizations: I am part of the influencer team, which creates content videos explaining why people should come to Ramapo.

Future Plans: I plan to find internships for the next summer and to get my ultrasound certificate during my senior year. I also plan to graduate as a bio major and earn my Master’s degree.

Favorite Inspirational Quote: “Para mis padres que llegaron sin nada pero me lo dieron todo,” which translates to “For my parents who arrived with nothing but gave me everything.” This quote reminds me to stay focused and work hard on any opportunity given to me. My parents sacrificed a lot to be where I am today, and I cannot take that for granted.

Advice for First-Year Students: Don’t try to do everything perfectly right away. Focus on building good habits and actually understanding what you’re learning. Also, use your resources early, not when you’re already struggling. It’ll prevent a lot less stress.
