If you’re looking to accelerate your career and expand your opportunities, Ramapo College provides an interdisciplinary program. You can pair your undergraduate degree in Law and Society or Political Science with a Master of Public Policy (MPP) graduate degree.
You will learn how to analyze complex issues, engage in informed discussions, and make a real impact on society. The program will give you the knowledge needed to navigate the complexities of public policy, as well as a deeper understanding of the mechanisms involved in policy formulation, analysis, and implementation.
The Law and Society degree offers a comprehensive interdisciplinary education in the humanities and social sciences. This provides a strong basis for a wide range of professions, such as public service, law enforcement, healthcare, social services, and legal administration.
A Political Science degree will give you an understanding into how governments function, how policies are made, and how power is shared at different levels. You will strengthen your critical thinking, research, and communication skills, preparing you for careers in law, public service, international relations, journalism, and advocacy.
The MPP will cover areas such as climate justice, criminal justice reform, public health, and urban development. You will develop the leadership skill needed to influence public decision-making, ultimately allowing you to contribute meaningfully to your communities and society as a whole.
Students majoring in Law and Society or Political Science are eligible to enroll in the BA to MPP 4+1 program. Students must submit a 4+1 Declaration form to the Registrar’s Office to officially enroll in the 4+1 MPP track. Once enrolled in the 4+1 MPP track, you will have a secondary academic advisor assigned to help you with advisement and registration. During your senior year, you will complete the 4+1 Transition Process with the Office of Graduate Admissions to officially enroll in the MPP program.
For questions about the 4+1 Program, please contact the MPP Program Director, Kaitlin Sidorsky, Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Policy, at ksidorsk@ramapo.edu
