Student Editors

  • Ava Cicero-Johnson ’27 (editor-in-chief): Ava is a sophomore Law and Society major with a minor in Crime and Justice Studies. She is also a member of the College Honors Program, a consultant at the Center for Reading and Writing, the co-president of Law School Prep Club, a Senator for SGA, and Public Relations Chair of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity. As an editor for the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society, she enjoys working alongside passionate, driven individuals to assist in showcasing impactful sociolegal scholarship.
  • Jake Higuera ’25: Jake is a senior Political Science student. He is involved in numerous clubs and organizations on campus, as well as being a guitar instructor. As someone planning on attending law school, Jake is looking forward to working with likeminded people at the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society.
  • Giovanna LaMonica ’25: Giovanna LaMonica is a senior Law and Society major with a minor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. She is also a member of the College Honors Program, a consultant at the Center for Reading and Writing and the Vice President of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity, as well as involved in numerous other organizations on campus. As an editor for the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society, she looks forward to working with likeminded individuals to expand knowledge on sociolegal issues in the world today.
  • Liz Mendicino ’26: Liz Mendicino is a junior Law and Society and Communication Arts double major with concentrations in Social Justice and Digital Journalism and Writing. She is the President of the Student Government Association and the Project ARCH Civic Engagement Club, Secretary of the Honors College and Phi Alpha Delta, a Peer Facilitator, and involved in other campus activities. She is passionate about social justice in law and has a profound love for writing and editing.
  • Emally Quezada ’27: Emally is a highly motivated Law and Society student with a strong interest in social justice and a minor in Crime and Justice studies. She has a strong desire to help ambitious individuals as the Vice President of the National Society of Leadership and Success, and help local and lower-income communities through volunteer work and being part of the Dominican Bar Association.
  • John Brighouse ’26: John is a Junior Law and Society major with a minor in English and Literary Studies. He is involved in a number of clubs and organizations on campus, including Phi Alpha Delta pre-law fraternity and the Law School Prep Club. As a student editor, he looks forward to working with other Law and Society students in the Ramapo Journal of Law and Society.
  • Julia Kotowski ’27: Julia is a sophomore Law and Society student with a concentration in Criminal Justice and a minor in Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies. She is a current editor of the RJOLAS, and is passionate about sociolegal research and writing.
