The recommended four-year plan is designed to provide a blueprint for students to complete their degrees within four years. These plans are the recommended sequences of courses. Students must meet with their Major Advisor to develop a more individualized plan to complete their degree.  This plan assumes that no developmental courses are required.  If developmental courses are needed, students may have additional requirements to fulfill which are not listed in the plan.

NOTE: This recommended Four-Year Plan is applicable to students admitted into the major during the 2017-2018 academic year.

** For those students who are officially admitted into the Teacher Education Program by August 31, 2017, COMM 222 should be taken.  For those admitted September 1, 2017 and following, EDUC 211 should be taken.  A waiver can be issued by the Assistant Dean of Teacher Education if students have completed COMM 222 prior to Fall 2017, but students must be officially admitted no later than the end of Fall 2017 to be eligible for the waiver.  See Dr. Lynn in Teacher Education as soon as possible for admissions requirements/advising.

***SOSC 101 (or any of the courses listed in summer on this plan) may be taken in any regular academic semester, even as an overload, to maximize tuition dollars.  Individual plans for/time to graduation should be developed with your major and TE advisors.

****The final year in the TE program must be a Fall-Spring Progression, with EDUC 310 and EDUC 350 required in the Fall and EDUC 491 Required in the Spring.  This is to allow the candidate and the program to meet DOE mandated requirements of 175 hours of Clinical Practice (time in a school) during Fall (associated with the listed EDUC courses) and 525 hours of Clinical Practice (time in a school)  during the Spring.  No other course may be taken with Student Teaching.
