Weekend Edition 2/18-2/21

Thursday, February 18th the College Programming Board sponsors this months After Dark with a Silent Dance Party at 10 pm in Friends Hall. What is a silent dance party? Students are each given a set of headphones to dance along to one of the two DJ’s for the night. For more information on a silent dance party: https://youtu.be/BQlYI9C0zIk?t=33s.

Friday, February 19th the Women’s Center along with the Fashion Show Committee present the Rags to Riches Fashion Show at 7 pm in the Bradley Center Aux Gym. Tickets are $10 for Ramapo students, $12 for guests, and $5 for the after party only. Doors open at 6 pm. Also at 7 pm, Mackin and Bischoff Hall present “What Happens in ‘Po Stays in ‘Po” casino event in the Pavilion. This event is cosponsored by the College Programming Board, Residence Hall Association, and Relay for Life. The casino games include roulette, poker, and black jack. Pizza, mozzarella sticks, wings, and more will be served!

Saturday, February 20th support the Men’s Basketball Team who will play in the NJAC Tournament at 6 pm in Bradley Center. Student tickets are free for the first 150 students, thanks to the Center for Student Involvement, and $2 afterwards. Later, join the College Programming Board for their Rock Show featuring some of Ramapo’s favorite bands including Roshambo, Ambary Lake, SkylineDrive, and Callout. All the fun starts at 8 pm in Friends Hall!

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, February 23rd, come to Friends Hall at 10 p.m. for Tuesday Night Live! This week’s TNL features Comedian Alex Stone. In 2014 Stone was one of the 100 comedians selected for season 8 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. His iTunes album “Hello” debuted at number 3 when released in late 2015. The Spring Concert headliner will be announced during the 2/23 TNL. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday 2/24 at 10 am at Roadrunner Central.

Weekend Edition 2/11-2/13

Thursday, February 11th play Valentine’s Day themed bingo with the College Programming Board at 10 pm in Friends Hall. There will be prizes and food provided.

Friday, February 12th at 10 pm, the College Programming Board is holding their annual Stuff-a-Plush event at 10 pm in the Alumni Lounges. Students will be allowed to choose the animal of their choice and stuff it themselves to create their very own furry friend! Don’t miss out!

Saturday, February 13th the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams play Rutgers-Camden, the Women’s game at 1 pm and the Men’s at 3pm, both in the Bradley Center. Later, the College Programming Board presents Dinner and a Movie at 9 pm in the Pavilion. There will be a screening of the romantic comedy Trainwreck starring Amy Schumer. A delicious Italian meal will be served including chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, and a chocolate fountain with fruit for dessert.

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, February 16th, come to Linden Hall at 9 p.m. for Open Mic Night! All are welcome to perform or watch from the audience.

Weekend Edition 2/4-2/7

Thursday, February 4th join the College Programming Board for a fun time in their Decorate Your Own Pastry event at 10 pm in the Alumni Lounges. You can have the opportunity to make custom donuts, cupcakes, and more!

Friday, February 5th the College Programming Board is hosting Karaoke Night at 10 pm in J. Lee’s. Snacks and a good time will be provided.

Saturday, February 6th the Men’s Volleyball Team plays Purchase College at 10 am and then Bard College at 2 pm.  Both games will be in the Bradley Center. Later, the College Programming Board will host Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader at 10 pm in Friends Hall. There will be a gift card giveaway!

Super Bowl 50 is finally here! February 7th, the College Programming Board will be hosting a screening of the Super Bowl 50 in Friends Hall with lots of delicious game-day foods and beverages! The event will start at 6 pm and kick off is at 6:30 pm. Come and see who will be this year’s champion!

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, February 9th, come to Friends Hall at 10 p.m. for Tuesday Night Live!  Poet Pages Matam will be performing spoken word. Weekend Edition 1/28-1/31

Thursday, January 28th the College Programming Board will host Grocery Bingo at 10 pm in Friends Hall. This event will feature the classic game of bingo with gift cards, food, and drinks.

Friday, January 29th join the College Programming Board for a special Dash for Dollars event at 9 pm in Friends Hall. This event is a game show of “Fast Cash and Easy Money.” Come play wild and wacky games and races in the hopes of being the lucky person to enter a cube with $500.00.

Saturday, January 30th support Ramapo’s athletes as the Men’s and Women’s Swimming teams compete against St. Francis College Brooklyn at 2 pm in the Bradley Center. Later, enjoy delicious sandwiches and Giant Board Games with the College Programming Board at 10 pm in the Alumni Lounges.

Sunday, January 31st enjoy a relaxing Sunday and head over to the Bradley Center at 1 pm to watch the Men’s and Women’s Swimming Teams compete against Montclair State University.

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. Weekend Edition 1/21-1/24

Thursday, January 21st the College Programming Board presents New Year, New You at 10 pm in Friends Hall to help everyone keep their New Year’s resolutions and stay motivated. This event will feature, Zumba, healthy snacks, and tips to keep your resolutions throughout all of 2016.

Friday, January 22nd the College Programming Board will be sponsoring a Roller Skating event at 9pm -1 am in the Aux Gym! Come skate the night away with friends on the rink! Skates will be provided to all who participate.

Saturday, January 23rd enjoy a full day of sports events in the Bradley Center. First, the Women’s Basketball team will play Rowan University at 1 pm, and the Men’s Basketball team will play Rowan University at 3 pm. Next, the Men’s and Women’s Swimming teams will both compete against Montclair State University at 2 pm. Lastly, join the College Programming Board at 10 pm in Friends Hall for a Decorate Your Room event, where you can make beautiful crafts for your room. We will be monitoring Saturday’s snow, but we anticipate the Decorate Your Room event happening, so you are not stuck in your room!

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, January 26th, come to Friends Hall at 10 p.m. for Tuesday Night Live! This Tuesday Night Live will feature season 9 winner of American Idol, Lee DeWyze! Since American Idol, Lee has released two albums, Live It Up and What Once Was. On Feb. 12, 2016 Lee will release his next album, Frames. To listen to his music: click here.

Weekend Edition 12/10-12/13

Thursday, December 10th come enjoy delicious mocktails as you paint canvases with friends at the College Programming Boards Paint Night at 10 p.m. in Friends Hall!

Friday, December 11th join the Veterans Student Organization, the College Programming Board, and ALMA in their Knot Your Frustrations Away blanket tying event from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. in Friends Hall. Pizza will be served. Later, they will host more blanket tying from 10p.m. – 12 a.m. with snacks. All blankets will be donated to Robert Wood Johnson hospital patients.

Saturday, December 12th celebrate with the College Programming Board at the Annual Snowball Semi-Formal at 9 p.m. in the Pavilion. Tickets are $5 at the door or available at Roadrunner Central. Ticket sales will be donated to Toys for Tots. There will be music, dancing, Italian food, and desert from Cinnabon.

Weekend Edition 12/03-12/06

Thursday, December 3rd stop by Friends Hall at 10 pm for Gingerbread House Making! There will be gingerbread house kits available for you to decorate your own house.

Friday, December 4th the Civic and Community Engagement Center will host a trip to House on the Hill, departing from the Bradley Center at 8 a.m. House on the Hill is a day care center in Goshen, NY that works specifically with children from immigrant families. For more information: click here. Then get in the holiday spirit with a Christmas movie as the College Programming Board screens The Santa Clause at 10 p.m. in H-Wing Auditorium.

Saturday, December 5th relax with the College Programming Boards Stressbuster Event at 9 p.m. in the Alumni Lounges. There will be a variety of stress relieving activities such as facial massages, coloring books, play-doh, and more!

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. On December 8th come to Linden Hall at 9 p.m. for Open Mic Night! This will be that last Open Mic Night of the semester. All are welcome to perform or watch from the audience.

Weekend Edition 11/19-11/22

Thursday, November 19th the College Programming Board presents Vegas Casino Night at 10 pm in Friends Hall. There will be a variety of casino tables and games available for those who play, and participants will receive tickets to increase their odds of winning prizes! Food and beverages will also be available.

Friday, November 20th come to the Pavilion at 7 pm for Ramathon, an 8 hour long Dance Marathon. It is a celebration of all the money the Ramathon organization has raised for the Children’s Specialized Hospital in Mountainside NJ all year long. Children’s Specialized Hospital is the leading provider for pediatric rehabilitation and specializes in traumatic brain injury, genetic disorders, and autism. All the funds are donated to that location and are used for whatever they may need to make the children happy! Don’t miss this fun and rewarding experience!

Saturday, November 21st join the College Programming Board for a Homegrown Band Showcase at 9 pm in Friends Hall. This event will feature the bands Roshambo, Ambary Lake, Dolphin Uppercut Avengers, and more! Food will be served.

Sunday, November 22nd join the Civic and Community Engagement Center from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. in the MEVO Farm Clean Up. Students will assist the Mahwah Environmental Volunteer Organization, engage in a cleanup initiative spanning the course of four hours, and providing invaluable service to the community at large. Transportation is provided and departs from the Bradley Center. For more information please email ccec@ramapo.edu. If interested, register on Orgsync.

On December 6th come to Friends Hall at 10 p.m. for Tuesday Night Live! This Tuesday Night Live will feature comedian Gibran Saleem. Weekend Edition 11/12-11/14

Thursday, November 12th come relax with friends at the College Programming Board’s Pottery event in the Pavilion at 10 p.m. Both the paint and the pottery items will be provided, so all you have to bring is your creativity! Items will be available for pick up about one week after the event because they need to be fired off campus.

Friday, November 13th join the College Programming Board at 10 p.m. in Friends Hall for a night of Slam Poetry and Rap Battles. Bring friends and your best rhymes in order to win great prizes.

Saturday, November 14th get ready to win awesome ugly sweaters and sip on hot chocolate with the College Programming Board in a game of Ugly Sweater Bingo at 10 p.m. in Friends Hall. There will be a hot chocolate bar with a variety of toppings including marshmallows, and whipped cream!

Sunday, November 15th the Civic and Community Engagement Center will host two service trips. At 8:15 a.m. students can join in on Senator David Carlucci’s Adopt a Road on Rt. 304 in New York. Next, at 10 a.m. the CCEC offers their weekly trip with the Mahwah Environmental Volunteer Organization in a four hour farm clean up. Transportation is not provided. This November 17th come to Friends Hall at 10 p.m. for Tuesday Night Live! Rapper and comedian Zach Sherwin, from the successful YouTube show Epic Rap Battles of History will join us for night of laughs and great comedy.

Weekend Edition 11/05-11/08

On Thursday, November 5th end your night on a relaxing note with some Yoga and Live Music at 10 pm in the Alumni Lounges, brought to you by the College Programming Board.

Friday, November 6th the Civic and Community Engagement Center and RA Angela will host a trip to House on the Hill, departing from the Bradley Center at 8 a.m. House on the Hill is a day care center in Goshen, NY that works specifically with children from immigrant families. For more information: click here. Later, the College Programming Board presents their Cultural Food Fest at 10 p.m. in the Pavilion. Stop by and try some delicious foods, enjoy some fun cultural activities, and watch a performance by the Brazilian Percussion Ensemble!

Saturday, November 7th listen to some punk and rock music at the College Programming Boards Punk Show at 10 p.m. in the Pavilion, cosponsored with the Ramapo Music Club. There will be great music, refreshments, and the opportunity to smash pumpkins afterwards.
