Weekend Edition 9/29-10/2

Thursday, September 29th join the College Programming Board at 10pm in Friends Hall for a special edition Thursday Night Live featuring Connecticut alternative/emo band A Will Away. Hot off Chicago’s Riot Fest, with exponential songwriting and massive hooks, A Will Away have managed to make an impact on the scene like few other artists! Calling to the likes of Transit, Balance and Composure, and many other Emo contemporaries, the band has managed to cement their own place in the ever-growing Emo/Alternative Revival. This is a show you will not want to miss!  Check out their latest EP, “Bliss” out on Triple Crown Records, here: https://awillaway.bandcamp.com/  This event will also feature student opener Ambary Lake.

Friday, September 30th support the Women’s Volleyball team at 5pm in the Bradley Center as they take on Brooklyn College. Later, head to H Wing Auditorium for the College Programming Board’s double movie screening event! At 9pm, they will be screening Finding Nemo and at 11pm they will be screening Finding Dory.

Saturday, October 1st  join the Civic and Community Engagement Center as they help Morris County’s Habitat for Humanity build homes for those in need. Transportation will be provided, the bus leaves at 8am from the Bradley Center. For more information and to sign up go the CCEC orgsync page. Cheer on the Women’s Volleyball team in their match against St. Joseph’s college at 11am in the Bradley Center. Afterwards, head to the athletics field to support the Men’s Soccer in their 1pm game against Rutgers-Camden. In the evening, join the College Programming Board at 9pm at Laurel Courts for a Rock Show! This show will feature performances from both student bands and local area bands.

Sunday, October 2nd  join the Civic and Community Engagement Center from  1pm to 4 pm in the MEVO Farm Clean Up. Students will assist the Mahwah Environmental Volunteer Organization, engage in a cleanup initiative which provides invaluable service to the community at large. Transportation is provided. Students are encouraged to wear long pants and long sleeves. For more information please email ccec@ramapo.edu. If interested register on orgsync.

 

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, October 4th, head over to Linden Hall at 9pm for Open Mic Night! This event is co sponsored by Linden Hall and WRPR.

Weekend Edition 9/22-9/25

Thursday, September 22nd join the College Programming Board for a Lip Sync Battle! Come to friends hall at 10 pm to compete against your friends for a chance to win prizes and enjoy some Chinese food!

Friday, September 23rd support the Women’s Tennis team as they take on Rutgers-Newark at 4pm at the tennis courts. Later, come to Friends Hall as the College Programming Board hosts Taste of Mahwah. This event will feature food from local Mahwah eateries. Students will be comparing Pizza, Wings, Sandwiches, and more! At the end of the night, share your opinions and vote on your favorite restaurants.

Saturday, September 24th  cheer on the Women’s Tennis team as they face Rutgers-Camden at the tennis courts at 12 pm. Afterwards, head to the Stadium Field at 1 pm to support the Men’s Soccer team as they compete against Stockton University. Finish off your night at the grove at 10 pm as the College Programming Board hosts Extreme Craft Night. All are welcome to join CPB for some art and crafting fun! Be sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. Cookies and Hot Chocolate will be served!

Weekend Edition 4/28-4/30

Thursday, April 28th take this last Thursday before finals to play Laser Tag with friends at 10 pm in Friends Hall. This black light event is brought to you by the College Programming Board.

Friday, April 29th the College Programming Board has an afternoon and night full of events for you! First, join the College Programming Board, Student Government Association, Professional Fraternity Council and the InterFraternity Council in RamaFest on the Bandshell Lawn at 4 pm. There will be inflatable games, food, and music by DJ Denz.  Later, Ramapo will be “waking up in a new Bugatti” as the College Programming Board and Student Government Association welcomes hip-hop artist Ace Hood as the Outdoor Concert headliner and student opener Ehi. The outdoor concert starts at 8 pm! Note: in the case of rain RamaFest will be cancelled, and the outdoor concert will be in the Bradley Center, doors opening at 7 pm. Tickets will be first come-first serve starting at 10 am at Roadrunner Central.

Saturday, April 30th release your inner geek as the Sci-Fi club wraps up their Geek Week. Play 12 hours of non-stop video games, free food, and prize giveaways in their annual Roxor event from 2 pm- 2 am in Friends Hall.  The College Programming will join in on the fun at 10pm, so come out!

The College Programming Board will be back with more programming starting in the Fall 2016 semester. Good luck on finals!

Weekend Edition 4/21-4/23

Thursday, April 21st the College Programming Board and the Golf Club are hosting a night of Mini Golf in Friends Hall at 10 pm. All golfing equipment and supplies will be provided. Gran a friend and challenge them to a game!

Friday, April 22nd the night starts off with FemFest at 6 pm in the Alumni Lounges. This carnival themed event focuses on empowering women through education. Come learn about different women’s issues that females are encountering now or can be in the future and have a chance to win gift cards to Panera Bread, Chipotle, and Starbucks. Later, join the College Programming Board in learning how to make handmade Knot Blankets at 10 pm in Friends Hall. These simple creations will be made and donated to charity.   

Saturday, April 23rd support the Ramapo Men’s Tennis team as they play Rutgers-Camden at 1 pm on the Athletic Fields. The competition doesn’t end there! Join the College Programming Board in an intense game of Bingo at 10 pm in Friends Hall. This is the last bingo event of the semester so you don’t want to miss out! The theme is Thrift Bingo and CPB has a range of thrift store finds.  Have a chance at winning awesome thrift store prizes including a brand new Polaroid camera, which includes film, and a gently used 6 string guitar.

Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, April 26th, come to the H-Wing Auditorium at 9 p.m. for  the Annual Rammy Awards! Refreshments will be served!

Weekend Edition 4/14-4/16

Thursday, April 14th the College Programming Board presents Toilet Cart Racing at 10 pm in Laurel Courts. Grab a friend a race and around a 25’x25’ race track on a battery powered toilet!

Friday, April 15th join the Women’s Center, Ramapo Pride, and the College Programming Board for a Drag Show and Pride Prom! At 8:00pm the festivities begin with a hilarious drag show performance by the Screaming Queens. Pride Prom immediately follows the drag show – the theme for 2016 is “Masqueerade.” This annual semi-formal dance is designed to provide a safe and affirming atmosphere for all members of the Queer community. All are welcome- dress to impress!

Saturday, April 16th May the Force be with you and the College Programming Board as they screen Star Wars: Force Awakens at 10 pm in H-Wing Auditorium. Not only will they screen this blockbuster hit, there will also be a raffle of 3 light sabers!

Sunday, April 17th get messy, get fed, and get social at the Student Government Associations 3rd Annual Run with Color! Registration starts at 2:30 pm and the run starts at 3 pm. Tickets are on sale now at Roadrunner Central for $10 and $15 the day of.

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, April 19th, come to Friends Hall at 10 p.m. for the last Tuesday Night Live! Comedian Jeff Scheen will be ending the Spring 2016 Tuesday Night Live series. Weekend Edition 4/7-4/9

Thursday, April 7th the College Programming Board gives their seal of approval in welcoming the hilarious Glen Tickle at 10 pm in Friends Hall. Tickle is a Ramapo College alumnus and will be sharing his new comedy material before touring it all across New York. Stop by for this hilarious event, food will be included!

Friday, April 8th cheer on the Men’s Volleyball team as they compete in the Skyline Semi-finals. For information, including the time and location: click here. Later, the popular Extreme Crafts event will take place at 10 pm in the Grove. Have a chance to make tie dye t-shirts, spin art, and spray paint different art creations. Sponsored by the College Programming Board.

Saturday, April 9th support Ramapo’s athletic teams at the following games!

Men’s Tennis V. Albertus Magnus College at 1 pm

Women’s Lacrosse V. Stockton at 1pm

Later that night, the College Programming Board will be hosting a Paint Night with Mocktails at 10 pm in Friends Hall! Come enjoy delicious mocktails as you paint canvases with friends! There will also be a painting teacher present to help students with their work.

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, April 12th, come to Linden Hall at 9 p.m. for Open Mic Night! All are welcome to perform or watch from the audience. Coffee and cookies will be served!

Weekend Edition 3/31-4/3

Thursday, March 31st join the College Programming Board for a night of Knitting, Crochet, and Ambient Music. This event will be a great time for experienced knitters and crocheter’s to teach the campus their hobby. All the fun starts at 10 pm in Friends Hall!

Friday, April 1st the Annual Relay for Life at Ramapo College will kick off at 5 pm with registration in front of Bradley Center. Throughout the night students will walk the track and hold ceremonies to celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost to cancer, and fight back against this horrible disease. There will be food, games, prizes, and much more! Saturday, April 2nd the College Programming Board presents the Annual Spring Concert! Kid Ink will be headlining, and Ramapo’s own Blind Eyez will be the opener.  Tickets are currently $15 for 1 student ticket, and $20 for additional tickets at Roadrunner Central. Doors will open at 7 pm and the concert starts at 8 pm. There will be no entry into the building after 8:30 pm. Note: big bags and lighters are prohibited.

Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, March 8th, come to Friends Hall at 10 p.m. for Tuesday Night Live! This week’s TNL features poet Jose Canta. Canta’s poetry often spreads the powerful message of “we are all divine and have the ability to transform the most tragic of moments in our lives into beauty through the use of artistic expression.” To watch some of Jose Canta’s poetry: click here.

Weekend Edition 3/10

Just before the start of Spring Beak this weekend, the College Programming Board will host St. Patrick’s Bingo on Thursday, March 10that 10 pm in Friends Hall. You can use the opportunity to have great food and win prizes just before your adventurous Spring Break.

The Center for Student Involvement will be open during Spring Break from 8:30am –Midnight (Mon. – Fri.). Students can purchase NYC bus tickets, movie tickets, and stamps from the CSI Main Office during Spring Break. The CSI Main Office will be closed Saturday, March 19th and will be open from 5pm-9pm on Sunday, March 20th. The CSI Main Office will resume regular hours starting March 21st.

Weekend Edition 3/3-3/6

Thursday, March 3rd all muggles and wizards are invited to the Yule Ball at 10 pm in Friends Hall, sponsored by Dumbledore’s Army, Disney Club, and Alpha Omicron Pi. Mocktails and food from the Chicken & Rib Crib, Nicky’s Pizza, and Cars will be provided. Raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes like movie tickets and an iPad will be given away. This event will be nothing short of magical, don’t miss out!

Friday, March 4th the Women’s Center will screen The Hunting Ground at 6 pm in the H-Wing Auditorium, a discussion will follow. The documentary sheds light on sexual assault on college campuses. Advocates, Lady Gaga and Vice President Joe Biden, have also brought attention to the documentary and sexual assault. During the 88th Oscars, Lady Gaga performed “Till is Happens to You” alongside 50 survivors, and Vice President Joe Biden gave a speech. To watch Lady Gaga’s performance click here.

Later, enjoy watching the movie UP as a part of the College Programming Boards Disney Weekend, at 10 pm in Friends Hall.

Saturday, March 5th start the day giving back to the Teaneck community by volunteering with the Civic and Community Engagement Center for Teaneck Tutoring. A bus will depart from the Bradley Center at 9 am, please register on Orgsync: http://bit.ly/1oL5f7G. Later that day, the College Programming Board continues its Disney Weekend with Epcot at 10 pm in Friends Hall. There will be wide range of food and activities from around the world.

Weekend Edition 2/25-2/27

Thursday, February 25th the Residence Hall Association presents Game Night including a Supersmash Bros. Tournament at 8:30 pm in J. Lee’s. This event is cosponsored with the Smash Club, Computers and Technology Club, and the College Programming Board. Immediately following the Game night, the College Programming Board presents 80’s Night at 10 pm in J. Lee’s. This event will feature 80’s games including Pac Man and Donkey Kong. There will also be prize giveaways of movies, a snow cone machine, and a Rubik’s cube.

Friday, February 26th take a blast to the past as the College Programming Board hosts 90’s Night at 10 pm in the Alumni Lounges. There will be 90’s trivia along with 90’s treats such as gushers and homemade Dunkaroos. There will also be giveaways of 90’s inspired prizes.

Saturday, February 27th the Men’s Volleyball team plays Medaille College at 10 am, Sarah Lawrence College at 12 pm, and St. Josephs College at 4 pm. All games will be played in the Bradley Center. Later, come relax with friends at the College Programming Board’s Pottery event in Friends Hall at 10 p.m. Both the paint and the pottery items will be provided, so all you have to bring is your creativity! Items will be available for pick up about one week after the event because they need to be fired off campus.
