Weekend Edition September 11th-14th

On Thursday, there will be a memorial service remembering the victims of September 11th from 1pm-2pm in the Spiritual Center presented by the Veteran Students Organization, Student Government Association, the College Democrats, and the College Republicans. All are welcome to attend and show their support. In the afternoon, the Women’s Soccer team will host Medgar Evers College at 4pm and later at 10pm in the Pavilion the College Programming Board is hosting Decorate Your Room, where you can create all your favorite Pinterest crafts to make your room feel like home. All materials and supplies will be provided for students who attend.

On Friday, Women’s Tennis will play Rutgers Newark at 4pm, followed by the Women’s Volleyball game against the College of Mount Saint Vincent at 7pm. This kicks off the Roadrunner Invitational for Women’s Volleyball, which will continue on Saturday. Later at 10pm in Pavilion is Fro Yo Friday/Meet CPB. Come eat some delicious frozen yogurt with all your favorite toppings! This will also be an event where students can actually meet CPB, or the College Programming Board: an organization on campus where students plan amazing events throughout the semester, including the Tuesday Night Live series and the Spring Concert! It will be a great way to find out how you can get involved!

On Saturday the 13th, the Roadrunner Invitational for the Women’s Volleyball team continues with games against Ithaca College at 10am and St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn at 2pm. Also at 2pm is the Men’s Soccer game versus Eastern Connecticut. Go Ramapo! End the night with more CPB fun at Body Art Night in the Pavilion at 10pm. Try cool designs on for size with temporary tattoos, henna, and more! Snacks and beverages will also be served.

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. On Tuesday, September 16th Kyshona Armstrong will come and perform. Originally a music therapist, Kyshona combined her love of soul and storytelling to become a national performer who has toured around the country singing. Her musical style is a mix of folk, country, and bluegrass that will have the entire audience on their feet clapping and stepping to the beat. Don’t miss out! For a sneak peek at her performance, listen to clips of Kyshona’s music here.
