Assistant Residence Director for the College Park Apartments, Asal Salah, will provide creative leadership techniques. As part of the Leadership Workshop Series, this is a great opportunity to become a more effective leader. If you have any questions, please email bmartin1@ramapo.edu. At 5 pm, stop by the Women’s Center for a discussion of the film Fight Club! Students will talk about the dominant themes and symbolism in the film and its relevance in today’s world. A screening of the film will take place the day before in 8 pm in Laurel Screening Room. Later the College Programming Board will host a Movie Night at 10 pm in the H-wing auditorium! They will be screening the Oscar-nominated movie Gone Girl featuring Ben Affleck and Best Actress in a Leading Role nominee Rosamund Pike! If you missed it in theaters, here’s your chance to catch this blockbuster movie with friends!
Friday, March 6th the Civic and Community Engagement Center will host their weekly service trip to House on the Hill. House on a Hill is a day care center in Goshen, NY that works specifically with children from immigrant families. Volunteers will work with the children and help the teachers. Transportation is provided! If you plan to use your own transportation, please ensure that you arrive on-time, and please email ccec@ramapo.edu indicating that you intend to use your own transportation. Students should arrive at the Bradley Center bus stop at 8:15 AM and get back to Ramapo around 1:00 PM. That evening head to the Bradley Center for one of the biggest events of the year: Relay for Life! Registration is at 5 pm and the walk begins at 7 pm. Don’t miss this chance to support an incredible cause!
Saturday, March 7th at 9:30 am join the Civic and Community Engagement Center for their weekly service trip to Teaneck, NJ for tutoring! They will be focusing on subjects such as Math, Language Arts, Social Studies and Arts & Crafts. No experience in tutoring is necessary. This project is great for students seeking CEC credit and for those in the process of receiving their teaching certification! That afternoon, support your Roadrunners at the Women’s Lacrosse game against the College of Old Westbury at 2 pm! And that night is the annual Spring Concert! This year’s spring concert features New Politics and MKTO, and a Ramapo Alumni opener- Pros and Icons! Tickets can still be purchased online through the Ramapo website, at Roadrunner Central, and in Residence Hall offices, so get them before they sell out! Pricing is $15 for the first student ticket and $20 for the second ticket, or for non-Ramapo students. Doors will open at 7pm and there will be a security screening upon arrival (no large bags/backpacks or lighters). The doors will close at 8:30 pm, and no one will be allowed entry after. Hope to see you there!
Sunday, March 8th stop by the Bradley Center to cheer on the Men’s Volleyball team as they play New Jersey City University at 10 am and Mount Saint Vincent at 2 pm! Go Roadrunners!
But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, March 10th join Linden Hall and the College Programming Board for an Open Mic Night at the Coffeehouse in Linden Hall!
