Weekend Edition 1/29-2/1

Thursday, January 29th come start the semester off on the right foot with a Speed Friend Meeting event at 10 pm in Friends Hall, hosted by the College Programming Board. Whether you’re a new transfer or a returning Ramapo student, it’s never a bad time to meet new people and find future friends! There will be games and activities, as well as snacks and beverages for students to enjoy. Don’t miss this fun and exciting opportunity to mix and mingle with fellow Ramapo students!

Friday, January 30th join the College Programming Board at 10 pm in Friends Hall for a performance by Jonny Zavant, renowned entertainer and mentalist extraordinaire! Recently voted “Psychic of the Year 2017” Jonny has been wowing audiences at college and university campuses across the country. His performance, a mix of entertainment and hypnosis, is sure to have you laughing ‘til it hurts! This is always one of our most popular events of the semester, so be sure to arrive early and get your seat!

Saturday, January 31st support Ramapo athletics and cheer on your fellow Roadrunners at these games:

Women’s Basketball v. Montclair State at 1 pm

Men’s & Women’s Swimming v. Rowan University at 2 pm

Men’s Basketball v. Rowan University at 3 pm

Later Saturday night, stop by the H-wing auditorium at 10 pm for the College Programming Board’s screening of the blockbuster movie Mockingjay: Part 1 of the hit Hunger Games series! If you missed it in theaters, this is your chance to watch and enjoy it with friends!

Superbowl Sunday is finally here! February 1st, the College Programming Board will be hosting a screening of the Superbowl in Friends Hall with lots of delicious game-day foods and beverages! The event will start at 6 pm and kick off is at 6:30 pm. Come and see who will be this year’s champion!

But the fun doesn’t end with the weekend! Every Tuesday the College Programming Board presents the Tuesday Night Live Series. Each week features either a live performance by a comedian, musical artist, slam poet, spoken word artist or magician or an open mic night during which Ramapo students have the opportunity to showcase their talent. This Tuesday, February 3rd Gordon Baker-Bone will be coming to campus. He has been performing in the tri-state area for years and is shaping up to be the next big name on the comedy scene! He has won several local stand-up competitions with a style that is described as thought-provoking, smart, and fun! You’ll be laughing until you cry. Take a sneak peek at his performance here.
