Open to all students, the American Women’s Medical Association (AMWA) is dedicated to advancing women physicians and transforming the future of healthcare. Through leadership development, mentorship, sponsorship, and professional branding, we empower physicians to reach their full potential and lead with confidence. We are committed to improving healthcare by promoting excellence in women’s health, preventive care, and gender-specific medicine, while driving meaningful change in the culture of healthcare. By advocating for equity, addressing burnout, fertility challenges, career barriers, and bias, AMWA works to ensure that every physician, regardless of background, can thrive and deliver the highest quality care to patients. Members have access to leadership development and career advancement programs, as well as mentorship opportunities that connect them with experienced physicians and future leaders. Extensive networking, from local chapters to global connections, allows members to build meaningful professional relationships at every stage of their careers.
