Animation and VFX Conference Weekend

SATURDAY, APRIL 30, 2022

Don’t miss your chance to meet powerful animation industry experts and get a behind-the-scenes peek at how films, commercials and artwork are constructed via visual CG effects and cutting-edge animation practices during our Experts Panel. Students 12+ are eligible for two separate hour-long workshops- one in 3D Animation and one in Directing for Animation. And finally, after light fare, join us for Miwa’s 8pm stunning performance of Indefinitely Yours and This World Made Itself

3-4 p.m.- Directing for Animation (Ages 12+) $15 with film director Neel Scott. Covers directorial choices made by animators to articulate a story such as shot size, type, angle, “camera” movement, composition etcetera.

4-5 p.m.-3D Computer Animation (Ages 12+) $15 with Visual Arts Animator Grace Velarde. Experiment with professional software to animate and light your own short CG animation.

5-6 p.m.- Industry Experts Panel featuring Miwa Matreyek (animator and solo performance artist), Joseph Perez, (Animator, Late Night Cartoons, Inc.), Julia Siemón, (VFX & Animation, Meta), Ryan O’Phelan (Owner, Jovian FX), Mike Schaefer, (Design Director, The Mill) $20 adult, $10 for students.
