Remembrance Day
| Remembrance Day is an annual event established by the Ramapo College of New Jersey Board of Trustees in 2005 to "memorialize the death of members of the campus community and outside individuals who have significantly contributed to the institution and to the campus community." Remembrance Day honors those who died in the preceding calendar year. Family members, friends, and members of the community are invited to attend a memorial gathering in April that culminates in a simple ceremony at the site of a newly planted tree in Memorial Grove. A memorial plaque with the names of those honored each year is placed at the site. The event provides an opportunity to pause, remember, and celebrate the contributions and lives of those whose memories continue to make Ramapo College a special community. |
