Copyright Guidelines for Feature Films

Copyright Guidelines for Feature Films

When the Potter Library purchases feature films it is for private viewing or educational use in the classroom only. The films are not for showing to large groups for any purpose. In fact, when feature films are shown for other reasons, public performance licensing is required, and the cost is several hundred dollars per showing.
For non-feature films, the Library obtains public performance licensing at the point of purchase, directly from the distributor.
