About the Scholarships
$10,000 Border State Scholarship
If you’re a high school graduate from one of our neighboring states – NY, PA, CT, or DE – and ready to jumpstart your journey at Ramapo College right after graduation, we’ve got a $10,000 scholarship waiting for you! No matter where you’re coming from, we’re thrilled to welcome you to our community!
$4,000 Housing Scholarship
Want the full campus experience? If you’re from NY, PA, CT, or DE and plan to live in our residence halls, we’ll make it even easier with an additional $4,000 housing scholarship.

Where can I find general admissions information?

Do I need a separate application?
No separate application is needed! If you live in NY, PA, CT, or DE and enroll at Ramapo right out of high school, you’ll automatically receive the $10,000 Border State Scholarship.
Are the scholarships renewable?
The scholarships will automatically be renewed for 4 years as long as you are continuously enrolled full time at RCNJ. The scholarships may be extended upon request and review.
Can I commute or live on campus and be eligible?
Yes. This $10,000 scholarship is available for both commuter and residential students, but the $4,000 housing scholarship is only available to those who choose to live on campus.
What if I live on campus?
If you live on campus, you will also be awarded the $4,000 Out of State Housing grant. Renewable for 4 years.
What is the criteria to qualify for the scholarship?
- Enroll at Ramapo College of New Jersey as first-year students.
- Reside in NY, PA, CT, or DE while attending Ramapo.
- Maintain full-time enrollment.
- Uphold good academic and disciplinary standing.
What if I move?
If you move out of NY, PA, CT, or DE while attending Ramapo, your scholarship will be revoked. However, you may still qualify for the $4,000 Out-of-State Housing Grant.
What if I take a gap year?
We will defer your scholarship for up to one year as long as you do not enroll full time at any other higher education institution during that time.
Do transfer students qualify?
The Border State Scholarship is not available for transfer students. However, if you graduate from a community college and enroll at Ramapo within one year, you’ll qualify for a special reduced rate. Check it out!
