The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) test is available in a variety of subjects and languages including Spanish, History, Psychology, Science, Math, and Business. The CLEP test is a lower cost option for earning college credit and is offered every Wednesday at Ramapo. The CLEP examination fee is only $89 plus a $40 Proctor fee. That’s only $129 for a test that can yield up to 12 credits!

How many credits will I get for taking the CLEP test?

Most colleges publish the required scores for earning CLEP credit on their websites or in a course catalog. The required score for earning CLEP credit may vary from exam to exam. Contact your institution to find out the minimum qualifying score for each exam. Ramapo follows the recommended credit-granting score as set by The American Council on Education.

Each institution reserves the right to set its own credit-granting policy, which may differ from that of The American Council on Education’s College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT) that Ramapo follows. CLEP testing does not require a course as a pre-requisite to testing.

Any student can take a CLEP test in any subject that they feel they have proficiency in.
