Briana DeJohn

Ramapo Success Story

“As an undeclared major my first semester at Ramapo College, I was instantly drawn to the International Studies major thanks to the incredible faculty in the School of Humanities and Global Studies. I learned from my wonderful professors that college doesn’t just end in the classroom, but the most important part is using what you know through fieldwork experience. I’m so thrilled to have achieved my goal of becoming a Peace Corps volunteer, where I will be putting my fieldwork experience to the test for two years as an English teacher in the Eastern Caribbean.” – Briana DeJohn ’15 graduated magna cum laude with a degree in International Studies and a minor in Human Rights and Genocide Studies. She made the Dean’s List from Fall 2012 through Spring 2015 and was a member of the following honor societies: Sigma Iota Rho, Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Beta Delta, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Omicron Delta Kappa. While at Ramapo, Briana worked at the French American Academy and studied abroad in Bilbao and Madrid, Spain. After graduation, she decided to pursue a career in education and literacy. She currently works as an assistant librarian at her hometown library and has developed an ESL program there for children. From 2016-2018, Briana will be working for the Peace Corps with a placement in the Eastern Caribbean.
