The Music program emphasizes creativity and experienced-based learning across the boundaries of disciplines and cultures. The program focuses on the many forms of contemporary music and experimental sound practices, while cultivating an appreciation for American music alongside diverse musical traditions from around the world. Musicians and educators often talk about the benefits of spending time immersed in another country\u2019s lifestyles and customs, in preparation for life as music professionals. From broadening your perspective as a human being and a musician to experiencing how your interests are taught, shared, and supported outside of your home turf, study abroad offers a compelling opportunity to learn in a new context.<\/p>\n

Studying music abroad is the perfect way to jumpstart your career in an industry that is becoming more internationally connected, and one that now demands proficiency in a wide range of global styles and approaches. Often you will get to study a musical style in the place it originated while also experiencing how local or traditional music has been fused into a vibrant and quickly changing contemporary scene.<\/p>\n

International Exchange Program – Fall or Spring Semester<\/i><\/b><\/h5>\n

Anglia Ruskin University partnered with Ramapo College in 2012 to offer exchange opportunities for students within the Music departments. They have two primary tracks in music: Popular Music<\/span><\/a>\u00a0& Creative Music Technology<\/span><\/a>. Faculty from both institutions have mapped the relevant courses to ensure students both maximize their experiences abroad, as well as keep on track towards their degree completion.
