Currently, we are offering the following program opportunities:<\/em><\/p>\n Apply Now<\/a><\/p>\n 2 Credits, 8 days<\/strong><\/p>\n The program is designed to provide students of many disciplines the opportunity to participate in this program. All students will enroll in INTL 130: Global Field Experience, Canada: Institutions for Social Change.<\/p>\n Course Description: Discover the stories of Montreal and Quebec City, and write the story of your own experience visiting these cities where the cosmopolitan present is rooted in a very deep past. Best known for its French elements, Montreal is one city with many cultures, including those of many immigrant groups who continue arriving and establishing their own distinctive neighborhoods. This trip may include a walking tour of Jewish Montreal, and will visit the Drawn & Quarterly bookstores, featuring some of Canada\u2019s best-known authors of graphic novels. Montreal\u2019s Pointe-\u00e0-Calli\u00e8re Museum literally exposes some of the city\u2019s subterranean past, while other historical sites such as the Basilique Notre-Dame illustrate particular achievements of construction and\/ or aspects of daily life. Walking through the Old City in Montreal and in Quebec, you may feel like you\u2019ve left the continent altogether, even though you\u2019re only six hours from home.<\/p>\n The program will include the following field excursions, to both complement the academic course, as well as provide insights into the culture and context of Quebec, Canada:<\/p>\n Students will reside in centrally located, apartments in both Montreal and Quebec City. Each room will include two beds, a desk, dressers and bathroom. Breakfast is provided daily. Laundry service is available (at a fee) and wi-fi is generally available at all times. Course Description: Employing 1 in 10 workers globally, pre-pandemic,\u00a0 a recovering travel and tourism industry will need to build back as an exciting, varied, and transformational field for innovative and sustainable management.\u00a0 This course provides an examination of the hospitality management industry pre and post pandemic, giving students exposure to the traditional functions of management such as leadership, decision making, sustainable operations, and organizational ethics within the fields of hospitality, travel, and tourism management.\u00a0 Two weeks of online learning, interspersed with course meetings and lectures, will be followed by an immersive, experiential study abroad program.<\/p>\n The program will deliver a 4-credit course in which students will learn about the industry that had accounted for 39.72 Billion Dollars of Canadian GDP (6.5% of total GDP) and welcomed 22.1 million tourists in 2019, the year before the Covid-19 pandemic. Open to students across the college interested in this vital yet recovering industry, this study abroad experience\/course provides an examination of the hospitality management industry, giving students exposure to the traditional functions of management such as leadership, decision making, sustainable operations, and organizational ethics within the fields of hospitality, travel, and tourism management. Guest lectures, organization visits and excursions will make up the 1-week in-country itinerary.
