Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club is a fun and casual group of students who like discussing current events, cultural trends, and the big ideas of philosophy. Remarkably, it’s actually not nerdy. Our meetings are usually the first Tuesday or Wednesday of the month, and all are welcome. We also have Platinum Series events in the spring.  Philosophy club: we don’t fight, we have ‘discussions.’ For more information contact lcassidy@ramapo.edu.

Ramapo Ethics Society

Ramapo Ethics Society is a club dedicated to the examination of ethical issues. It meets 3 or 4 times a semester. It consists either in an open discussion on a topic chosen ahead of time or a series of debates where students take side on a particular issue. It is informal and exciting. History Club

Literature Club

The Literature Club is a campus club for students who are interested in literature in its many manifestations. Its regular activities include Open Mic Poetry Nights, Creative Writing Workshops, and Discussions of Poetry, Books, and Short Fiction; it also sponsors special events each semester. Dr. Yvette Kisor serves as the club’s advisor.

Model U.N.

The Model U.N. is a campus club offering students an opportunity to gain knowledge of the workings of the United Nations and participate in a variety of regional and national conferences. Dr. Dean Chen serves as the club’s advisor

ALMA (Association of Latinos Moving Ahead)

ALMA is an academic and social Latino organization. The organization takes primary focus on fundraising and involvement in numerous community service activities among Latino communities. Through servicing others, growth should be achieved with the acknowledgement that the help being provided is beneficial to one’s self and to the disadvantaged Latino communities.  For more information contact Professor Iraida Lopez at ilopez@ramapo.edu.

American Studies Club

The American Studies Club is an exciting organization consisting of Ramapo students interested in a wide array of events and activities broadly related to the interdisciplinary study of America, past and present.  These have included invited speakers, trips to Broadway shows and to Gettysburg, film screenings, and volunteer projects.  The club has traveled to Boston, Washington, D.C., and to New York City on several occasions. For more information, contact Emily Inserra at einserra@ramapo.edu
