Ramapo College Remembers 9/11
Ramapo College offers a night of reflection and remembrance for September 11. The night’s events are collaboration between the Council on Faith and Spirituality (Newman Catholic at Ramapo, Hillel, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, and Campus Crusade), the Student Government Association, and Zeta Beta Tau.
At 7 p.m., Council on Faith and Spirituality will offer an interfaith service of remembrance titled, “9/11 From a Dark Past to a Bright Future.” Student representatives will lead the interfaith service from different religious organizations on campus as well as President Peter P. Mercer and Pat Chang, Associate Vice President of Student Affairs. The service will include words of remembrance and prayerful intention as well as poetic and musical reflection.
Immediately following the interfaith service, attendees may choose to remain in the Salameno Center for Catholic Sunday Mass from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Those who are not Catholic may join the SGA and ZBTs for a memorial march around campus. Following the march and concluded Mass, all students may meet at the Laurel Courts for a memorial of pictures, music, and personal experiences from September 11, 2001. The evening is scheduled to run until 10 p.m.
