Silver, Nancy and Harry Scholarship

The Silver Scholarship was established in 2011 by Harry Silver and his wife Nancy, residents of Oakland, NJ. Mr. Silver has been an active member of the Friends of Ramapo since 2010, and is a member of the Business Advisory Board. An executive with Goldman Sachs, Mr. Silver has shared his business expertise with students through the Cahill Career Center and the Anisfield School of Business. In addition, Mr. Silver is Senior Advisor/Loan Executive to the United States Department of Homeland Security. His interests focus on public-private partnerships.

  • For a student enrolled in the MBA program
  • Preference given to a minority or a female student with financial need
  • Academic excellence based on GPA & GMAT
  • Recipient selected by the MBA program director in consultation with Enrollment management.

2020 Recipient

Rachel Cosio

MBA student Rachel Cosio of Bergenfield, N.J. plans to become an executive manager after graduation. Currently, she is a Store Manager at Hollister in the Paramus Park Mall. “I hope to further strengthen my business and leadership skills,” she says. She’s fluent in Spanish, and after four years of passionate studying has become conversant in Italian.



2019 Recipient

Lindsey Miller

Lindsey Miller of Randolph, NJ is a Humanities and Social Sciences major with a minor in Human Resource Management. Lindsey graduated from Rowan University with a 3.4 GPA.

Before attending Ramapo College for her MBA, Lindsey has been active in several organizations and activities, including hosting philanthropy events for Sharsheret Breast Cancer and being a member of the National Women’s Association.

Lindsey has also been involved in off –campus activities such as working at Atlantic Health System. During her senior year of college she created a pension workshop for employees at Morristown Medical Center. This project became a great accomplishment that continued well after the internship was over. Currently, Lindsey is still working at Atlantic Health System and is hoping that the knowledge she gains from this MBA will allow her to further her career and branch out into new interests in the business field.

 



2018 Recipient

Alexandra Giordano

Alexandra Giordano of Waldwick, N.J. is pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration. She graduated from Stockton University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Administration and a minor in Business Studies. Alexandra was a member of the Stockton Volleyball Team, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and Public Health Society.

She currently works as a Contracts & Pricing Analyst for Par Pharmaceutical, one of the top four leaders in the U.S. generics industry. Through her time at Par she has displayed her ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and work well with her peers to accomplish the common goals of the company. “I believe obtaining my MBA at Ramapo will set me apart from other candidates and help me advance my career by broadening my educational and leadership skills.”

Adelina Diaz is from Mahwah, NJ and is pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration.

2014 Recipient

Ernesto Jimenez

Ernesto Jimenez of Landing, NJ was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. He graduated from Universidad APEC with a business degree. He immigrated to the United States in 2009. Upon his arrival, Ernesto enrolled in New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies and completed eight courses at night to earn a Professional Certificate in Advanced Financial Analysis. Ernesto is an expense management coordinator at Weichert Relocation Resources. His managers praised his leadership, organizational and communication skills in their letters of recommendation for the program. As a result, he was assigned Weichert’s most “grueling clients with the most difficult customers and detailed policies.” He has been the recipient of several “Raving Fan” awards, a Weichert program in which employees nominate their colleagues. “This is definitely a boost that is going to increase my ambition to obtain an MBA and it is going to lighten my financial burden,” said Ernesto. He has a 2.92 grade point average.


2013 Recipient

Rudina Kajacka

Rudina Kajacka of Garfield, NJ is a Business Administration major and an Accounting minor. She is a member of the United Nations Club, Math Club, International Student Organization, Accounting Club and Finance Club. Rudina was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Rudina has a mission for each day. It is to “cherish my family and friends, improve myself personally and professionally so that I can advance within my educational development, lead a successful career that I will enjoy and take on any challenges that come my way.” Rudina has a 3.56 grade point average.


2012 Recipient

Lazaro Hernandez

Lazaro Hernandez is a senior from Cliffside Park, NJ. He is an Accounting major and plans to stay at Ramapo College to earn an MBA. Lazaro, after becoming a CPA, will apply to law school and study Tax Law. He plans to work with his brother a CPA and attorney.
