Sabrin Center For Free Enterprise Scholarship

Murray Sabrin, Ph.D., a professor of Finance, and his wife, Florence M. Sabrin, are staunch supporters of Ramapo College.  They established The Sabrin Center for Free Enterprise at the College to enhance students’ understanding of the free enterprise system, offering nonprofit solutions to social issues, fostering innovation and social entrepreneurship and analyzing how government policies impact both the free market and the nonprofit sector.  This will be accomplished through symposia, lectures or other events for the College community and the general public.

Through the Center, scholarships will be awarded to students who have declared a major in the Anisfield School of Business and who demonstrate academic excellence and “a commitment to the mission of the Sabrin Center.”  Selection will be made by the Anisfield School of Business Scholarship Committee.

2024 Recipients

Luannee Hernandez

Luannee Hernandez of Carteret, N.J. is a sophomore Marketing major with a 3.7 GPA and has consistently earned a place on the Dean’s List, showcasing her dedication to academic excellence.

At Ramapo, Luannee serves as the Secretary of the Ramapo College Women In Business, where she adeptly manages administrative responsibilities while actively participating in executive board meetings and contributing to event planning efforts. Additionally, Luannee serves as the Social Media Chair for the Ramapo College Association For Latinos Moving Ahead, where she enhances the organization’s online presence. She also serves as a Resident Assistant in Bischoff Hall, nurturing a positive living environment for over 100 residents by demonstrating her commitment to creating a welcoming community. 

After graduation, Luannee plans to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration. Her goal is to leverage her diverse skill set and passion for marketing to drive innovative campaigns and strategies that resonate with audiences.


Alyse Turk

Alyse Turk of Wayne N.J. is an Accounting major in the MBA 4+1 program with a 3.8 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester since she has been at Ramapo. She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

At Ramapo, Alyse is an active member of Ramapo’s accounting club, Leaders in Service, and is working for SARM at Ramapo’s financial department. This past summer, Alyse worked full-time as a personal banker at Valley Bank. She learned how to manage money, work with clients’ money, and learned marketing through product promotions. 

After graduation, Alyse plans to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).


Avanish Chaulagai

Avanish Chaulagai of Kathmandu, Nepal is an Economics major who has maintained a 3.8 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester. 

At Ramapo, Avanish is a part of the International Student Organization, South Asian Club and Math Club. He also serves as a Student Assistant for J Lees’ at the Center for Student Involvement.

After graduation, Avanish plans to pursue graduate studies in Economics and Mathematics.


Sophia Riccobono-Baran

Sophia Riccobono-Baran of Waldwick, N.J., is a Business Management major with a minor in Psychology with a Pre-Law concentration and has maintained a 3.7 GPA. 

At Ramapo, Sophia is a member of the Student Government Association, Women in Business, and RCTV.  She is Ramapo’s Alternate Student Governor and is involved in various on-campus events and fundraisers. 

Off-campus, Sophia is often involved in community-based fundraisers such as marathons and food drives. 


Kathleen Bishop

Kathleen Bishop of Stuttgart, Germany is a Business Management major with a minor in Sports Management. She has a 3.8 GPA, a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society and a Dean’s Scholarship recipient. Kathleen is proud to receive the scholarship at Ramapo, and plans to continue to strive for academic excellence.

At Ramapo, Kathleen is an active member of the NCAA Volleyball team at Ramapo College. As a student athlete, Kathleen spends a lot of her free time studying and making sure she is doing all she can to be successful in the future.

Kathleen serves as a Starbucks Barista and an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Pinnacle Volleyball Academy outside of Ramapo. 

After graduation, Kathleen plans to get a job at an athlete representatives office to represent pro or collegiate volleyball players while also coaching collegiate volleyball.

2023 Recipients

Shreya Ranjan

Shreya Ranjan is from Edison, New Jersey, and is an IT Management Major with a 3.75 GPA. She was on the Dean’s List for the Spring 2023 semester.

At Ramapo, Shreya has been active in several organizations and activities, including Enactus as the treasurer, Women in Business as an active member, and the Tau Sigma Honors Society as the president.

She has also been involved in off-campus activities and organizations, including Toastmasters International, where she holds the Vice President of Public Relations (VPPR) position.

Shreya takes pride in being awarded an academic excellence scholarship in her first year at Ramapo, and would like the donors to know that she is a passionate and dedicated student who values education as a way to make a significant difference in their community and the world.


Aqdas Mujahid

Aqdas Mujahid is from Mahwah, N.J., and is a second-year Accounting major with a 3.6 GPA. He was on the Dean’s List for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters.

Outside of school, Aqdas currently works at TJ-Maxx part-time and has been working there for close to 2 years. 

For the rest of his time at Ramapo, Aqdas hopes to start being more involved in organizations and different clubs and to start talking to more people. Also, to make the Dean’s List both semesters each year and to achieve more academically.

“My goal post-graduation is to do the 4+1 B.S. to MSAC Accounting Program and start working a job for an Accounting firm or look for any opportunities that will benefit my future in the field of Accounting,” says Aqdas.


Shrijan Bhatta

Shrijan Bhatta of Kathmandu, Nepal is a Business Administration Finance major. He has a 3.98 GPA and has been on the Dean’s list each semester since his freshman year. He is also a Presidential Scholarship recipient. 

 At Ramapo, Shrijan has been an active member of several clubs, including ISO, South Asian Club, and Roadrunners Financial Group (RFG).  

 Shrijan is a founder of two Nepalese startups: SZ Incorporation and SRAN. He also holds Chief Financial Officer (CFO) positions in both of the companies. 

 After graduating with a Finance major, Shrijan plans to continue his academic career by becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He dreams to grow and diversify his startups after completing his studies. 


Paolo Miyashiro Bedoya

Paolo Miyashiro Bedoya of Pompton Lakes, N.J. is a Management major with a Marketing minor. He has a 3.94 GPA, is on the Dean’s List, and is an active member of the College Honors Program, serving on the Student Executive Board.

At Ramapo, Paolo has been heavily involved, holding positions as the President of the Student Government Association and a Ramapo Admissions Student Ambassador. He is also a Peer Facilitator and works in the Office of Marketing & Communications as a Marketing & Social Media Student Assistant. 

Paolo is dedicated to student leadership, having been recognized with three Outstanding Leadership Awards throughout his time at Ramapo. He is committed to helping students however he can, and plans to use his remaining time as a Roadrunner to continue making an impact on his fellow students. 

Off-campus, Paolo has worked for the past five summers at Happiness is Camping, a summer camp for children with cancer and their siblings. This past summer, he was the Director of Teen Programming, where he facilitated STEM, Life Skills, Work Experience, Mentorship, and College Prep sessions for teenagers with cancer. He has also led fundraising efforts for Happiness is Camping since high school.

Post-graduation, Paolo is to pursue a career in Social Media Marketing or Higher Education/Student Affairs.


Victoria Niedbal

Victoria Niedbal of Lyndhurst, N.J. is a junior Marketing major with a minor in International Business with a 3.8 GPA. She has made the dean’s list every semester.

At Ramapo, she is a member of the Honors program in which she was an Honors Development Group (HDG) leader. Along with this, she is also part of the Alpha Lambda Delta academic honors society and The National Society of Leadership and Success.

In high school, Victoria passed the N.J. State Seal of Biliteracy for her proficiency in the Polish language.

Currently, Victoria is interning with the Small Business Development Center which provides support to entrepreneurs and small businesses.



2022 Recipients

Jakub Zak

Jakub Zak of Wallington, N.J. is a Finance major with a Mathematics minor in the Honors Program. He has a 3.75 GPA, is on the Dean’s List, and is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

Jakub serves on the Ramapo College Board of Trustees as the Alternate Student Trustee. He is on the ASB Dean’s Student Advisory Council and in the Roadrunner Financial Group. He works as a Junior Consultant for the Small Business Development Center on campus, helping local businesses in Bergen County. As a result, Jakub and his team have been given the Bergen County Clerk’s Five Star Student and New Jersey State Governor’s Jefferson Awards.

Off-campus, Jakub is involved in his church and the Polish community to preserve traditions from the motherland. He enjoys biking, trying new foods, and watching Devils hockey.


Myat Noe Pwint Phyu

Myat Noe Pwint Phyu is an international student from Yangon, Myanmar studying Finance. She is a Presidential Scholarship recipient and has made the Dean’s List since her first semester at Ramapo. 

Myat Noe is a member of the Honors Program, the International Student Organization, and the Sustainable Living Eco-stewardship Housing Program. She also has participated in a campus climate strike.

After graduating, she plans to sharpen her skills in the Finance sector and pursue her dream of becoming a CFA.


Audrey Miller

Audrey Grace Miller is an MBA student at Ramapo College with a current GPA of 3.96. She serves as the President of Beta Alpha Psi Accounting Honor Society. Audrey aspires to be a CPA and work in international tax.


William Keaveney

William Keaveney of Pompton Plains, N.J. is a Finance major. He has a 3.92 GPA and has been on the Dean’s List every semester. 

At Ramapo, William has been active in several organizations and activities, including the Roadrunner Financial Group and the National Society of Leadership and Success. 

William interned with Woodport Holdings, a private equity search fund in the spring of 2021, and he hope to get a job in corporate finance upon graduation.

2021 Recipients

Pratistha Adhikari

Pratistha Adhikari is an Economics major from Nepal. She is a Presidential Scholarship recipient with a 3.9 GPA and makes the Dean’s List every semester. 

Pratistha has held leadership positions in the International Student Organization and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. She works for CSI and has been appointed the Area Manager of J. Lee’s and Padovano Commons for 2020-2021. She is also the Founder and former Treasurer of NAACH, a Bollywood dance club at Ramapo.

This year, Pratistha is representing Ramapo College in the College Fed Challenge organized by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. After graduation, she plans to get a Master’s in Economics and hone her economic research skills.

Alysa Rai

Alysa Rai is an international student from Nepal majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Accounting. She has earned Dean’s List status for the past three years and is a recipient of the Presidential Scholarship as well.

Alysa is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and Treasurer of the International Student Organization. She is also a student manager at the Berrie Center Box Office and a finance tutor at ASB. 

This year, she is representing Ramapo College at the College Fed Challenge by the Federal Reserve Board and looks forward to bringing in some good news for the team.

After graduation, Alysa plans to attend graduate school for her PhD in Finance. 


Kaitlyn Weikl

Kaitlyn Weikl of Ridgefield, N.J is an Economics major. She has a 3.57 GPA and was inducted into Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society. 

Kaitlyn is active in Leaders in Service, Women in Business, and Sigma Delta Tau national sorority. She previously worked as a Resident Assistant in The Village. Off campus, she helps her community by working as a lifeguard. 

Upon graduating, Kaitlyn plans to receive her MBA at Ramapo and pursue a career as a Management Consultant.


Lumana Shakya

“I regard a career in economics to be meaningful and inspiring,” says Lumana Shakya, a senior majoring in Economics and minoring in Mathematics. She has consistently earned Dean’s List status with a 4.0 GPA. 

Lumana has held leadership positions in the Dance Company, International Student Organization, and Naach. She is also a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon and N.J. Collegiate Business Administration Honor Society. 

After Ramapo, Lumana will attend graduate school and become a Research Economist, where she’ll concentrate on macroeconomics and development economics. 


Sean Scott

Sean Scott of Bloomingdale, N.J. is a transfer student from the County College of Morris majoring in Finance. He has a 4.0 GPA and made the Dean’s List during his first semester at Ramapo.

Sean has maintained his academic excellence throughout managing several different jobs. In his free time, he shares his love of fitness by posting his personal progress on social media.

“After graduating, I plan on becoming a financial advisor to continue my efforts to help others,” says Sean.



2020 Recipients

Matthew Reber

Matthew Reber of Ridgefield Park, N.J. is a Finance major with a Mathematics minor. He has a 3.77 GPA. He is currently the Student Governor and an Investment Committee member of the Ramapo College Foundation, as well as a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

Matthew has also been involved in off-campus activities and organizations, including tutoring at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Teaneck and as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Jersey. Matthew will be interning at PwC in the summer of 2020, and his career goal is to be an actuary. “My goal for the future is to help individuals and businesses achieve their goals of financial planning and saving for retirement.”


Jijeebisha Bhattarai

Jijeebisha Bhattarai of Nepal is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance and minors in Mathematics and Accounting. Jijeebisha recently represented Ramapo at the BGS Global Leaders’ Summit in Chicago. She is a member of the International Student Organization and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society.

In addition, Jijeebisha is a mathematics/finance tutor and a Financial Customer Support Assistant at Objecutive, Inc.  After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school for her PhD in Finance.   She currently has a 3.94 GPA.


Hatice Ozen

Hatice Ozen of Paramus, N.J. is a senior Finance major with a minor in Computer Science. As a freshman, Hatice was elected as one of the first two freshmen representatives of the ASB Dean’s Student Council, where she helped improve the opportunities available to business students. She has served as a tutor, volunteer and mentor to the Ramapo community. One of her most rewarding experiences at Ramapo was her study abroad experience in Frankfurt, Germany.

Hatice has been the recipient of many honors, the most notable ones granted by JPM, Red Ventures, Citibank, and Major League Hacking. Over the summer, she interned as a technology analyst at Bank of America and will be returning as a full-time analyst after graduation.


Ryan Greff

Ryan Greff is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Information Technology. He is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Golden Key International Honour Society. Ryan is also an Eagle Scout and is Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 53.

In 2019, Ryan was invited to join the New Jersey Business Administration Association. Only the top 1% of business school students at their respective collegiate institutions are invited to join this prestigious statewide honor society. He is also a recipient of the Congressional Award.

Previously, Ryan served two terms in the Student Government Senate and was a member of the Library Learning Commons Task force to oversee stages of the $40,000,000 Learning Commons Project. He has also served on the President’s Committee for Campus Sustainability, where he worked to advance environmental stewardship across campus.

He lives in Fair Lawn, N.J. and currently has a 4.0 GPA. After college, Ryan hopes to secure a job in finance.



2019 Recipients

Lumana Shakya

Lumana Shakya is a junior majoring in Economics and minoring in Mathematics. She has consistently earned Dean’s List status with a 4.0 GPA.

For the past two years, she has represented Ramapo College at the Inter-Collegiate Fed Challenge by the Federal Reserve of New York, and last summer, she completed an FP&A internship with a local CPG company. “I plan to attend graduate school to continue my studies in Development Economics and serve my purpose by doing meaningful research within this field,” says Lumana.

She works for the Potter Library and Institutional Advancement, along with holding leadership positions in the Dance Company and the International Student Organization. Lumana has received the “Outstanding Officer Award 2019” from the Center for Student Involvement for her leadership in ISO. Recently, she founded a new dance club, Naach, for students interested in Bollywood and South Asian dance forms.


Achyut Gautam

“After graduation, I’m determined to make financial markets more efficient, transparent, and accessible to people,” says senior Achyut Gautam, who is a double major in Finance and Economics with a minor in Mathematics. He has a 3.8 GPA and is part of the Honors Program.

Achyut has been active in several organizations and activities, including Student Government Association (SGA), Board of Trustees, Roadrunner Financial Group, Dean’s Advisory Council, and Civic and Community Engagement Center. He is currently serving as a research assistant in the Anisfield School of Business where he assists faculty in designing econometric models.

Achyut studied abroad in Milan and also travelled to Ghana as part of the SGA exchange program. He was one of the recipients of the “Outstanding Leadership by a Junior” and was also selected by the Dean of ASB for Seminara Memorial Award.


Thanuri Udumulla

Thanuri Udumulla, an international student from Sri Lanka, is a Business Administration major with concentration in Finance.  She has a GPA of 3.78 and has consistently made the Dean’s List and is a provost scholar. She is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Honor society, Disciplinary Review Board, ASB Dean’s Council and served as a peer facilitator.

Thanuri has also been interning for the Ramapo College Foundation since the summer of 2018. Previously she interned for the VP of Administration and Finance and is currently a key holding/acting manager at the Ramapo Campus Store.

“After Ramapo, I hope to pursue a PhD in finance at NYU and focus on building more efficient and economical financial models for corporations concentrating on long term growth.”


Jijeebisha Bhattarai

Jijeebisha Bhattarai of Nepal is a Business Administration major with minors in Mathematics and Accounting. She is a Presidential Scholarship recipient. She has been on the Dean’s List since freshman year and has a 3.9 GPA.

At Ramapo, Jijeebisha has been active in the International Student Organization, and is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Honors Society.  She works as a tutor at the TAS Mathematics Tutoring Center.


Meredith Butler

Meredith Butler of Pawtucket, RI is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance.  She has a 3.9 GPA and is a member of several collegiate honor societies. She has been on the Dean’s List all six semesters so far.

At Ramapo, Meredith is a member of the Women’s Track and Field Team, Theta Phi Alpha Sorority, and the Student Athlete Advisory Council.  She is a captain on the track team and has held numerous positions in her sorority.

Tejas Keshari Baidya

Tejas Keshari Baidya is from Kathmandu, Nepal. He is a Business Administration Major with a minor in mathematics and a concentration in finance. He has a 4.0 GPA and is a Presidential Scholarship recipient. He has been on the Dean’s list since his first semester at Ramapo.

At Ramapo, Tejas has been active in several organizations and activities, including Enactus, International Student Organization (ISO) and SAIL. Currently, he is serving as a project leader under Enactus where he is trying to facilitate school curriculum books to the students of Ramapo. He is also a research assistant for the Anisfield School of Business where he is working with faculty on a literature review about the effectiveness of Online Education.

Tejas is employed as a student aide at the Student Activities Revenue Management division under the Center for Student Involvement. “After graduation, I plan to apply for the CFA exams and achieve my dream of working as a financial planner.”


Seint Sandy Aung

Seint Sandy Aung is an international student from Burma majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. She is a Presidential Scholar and a Dean’s list recipient with a 3.8 GPA.

At Ramapo, Sandy works as a Resident Assistant for Office of Residence Life, Study Abroad Student Aide for Office of International Student & Scholars and commits the rest of her time as an Undergraduate Research Assistant with Dr. Nikhil Varma. She also works as a finance intern at HighTower LLC where she plans to pursue her Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification.

She hopes to attend a graduate school for a master’s degree in Finance and pursue her goal of becoming a financial planner.


Hatice Ozen

Hatice Ozen of Paramus, N.J., is a third-year Computer Science major with a minor in Economics. As a freshman, Hatice was selected as one of the first two freshman representatives of the Anisfield School of Business Dean’s Student Advisory Council, where she has been helping to improve the opportunities for business majors. She is also the publicist for Females in S.T.E.M. Society, an organization dedicated to women pursuing educations in S.T.E.M. fields.

She has also been involved in off-campus activities, including tutoring children to help improve their reading and language skills, volunteering for causes that improve our community, and mentoring other females to help motivate the pursuit of higher education. “With my technical skills, I hope to improve the society of today for a better tomorrow through technological innovations as well as applications that will improve the standard of living for many.”



2018 Recipients

Riana Katz

Riana Katz is a junior Business Administration major with a concentration in Management and an intended minor in Women and Gender Studies. She currently holds a 3.9 GPA. She is in the Honors Program, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society and is also a Dean’s List recipient.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Riana is also extremely involved on campus. This year she will serve as the Enactus President and Project Manager and Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity brother. “I enjoy demonstrating my work ethic and passion to serve the community through both my academic achievements and civic engagement.”


Ryan Greff

Ryan Greff of Fair Lawn, N.J. is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance. He has a 4.0 GPA.  He is a member of the Alpha Lamba Delta Honor Society, the Honor Society Organization, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Golden Key Honor Society.

“I’m proud of my work in the Student Government Association. As a Senator-at-Large, I have successfully increased commuter representation on campus by working to add commuter advisory seats on the President’s Advisory Council and Library Learning Commons Task Force.” He has also worked to obtain volt-chargers for the Potter Library, passed Student Government legislation that aims increase the recycling rate on campus, and worked with the financial aid office to increase private scholarship opportunities for students.

Ryan has also been involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 53, as well as a Merit Badge Counselor. He is also an intern for the NJ Small Business Development Center.

“After Ramapo, I plan to work as a force to help grow small business in New Jersey.”


Plamena Bletsova

Plamena Bletsova, an international student from Sliven, Bulgaria, is pursuing a double major in Economics and Mathematics. She has a 3.6 GPA. Plamena has consistently made the Dean’s List, and is a Presidential Scholar, a member of several honors societies, and a recipient of the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 2016 Garden State Undergraduate Mathematics Conference.

At Ramapo, Plamena has been the President of both the Math Club and the International Students Organization, and has served on the ASB Dean’s Advisory Board.


Anusha Basnet

Anusha Basnet is an international student from Kathmandu, Nepal. She is an Economics major with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She has a GPA of 3.8.

At Ramapo, she is active in the International Student Organization (ISO) and also works as a Peer Facilitator. “My plan is to go to graduate school and earn a PhD in the field of Economics.”


Antonia Arena

Antonia Arena of Holmdel, N.J. is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance. She has a 3.4 GPA. She interns at Marcus & Millichap, a commercial real-estate investment firm.

 

Antonia is a transfer student from Brookdale Community College where she was actively involved in the Alpha Business Club (ABC). She has also been involved in several community service events such as the Hope for Children Foundation, and environmental cleanup events in her hometown. Antonia also manages the investment fund for the student-run Roadrunner Financial Group. She hopes to enter the finance industry post-graduation.

 


Seint Sandy Aung

Seint Sandy Aung is an international student from Burma. She is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and an intended minor in Economics. She has a 3.86 GPA and is a Presidential Scholar, as well as a Dean’s List recipient.

At Ramapo, Sandy is the treasurer for her residence hall association, and also works as a Resident Assistant.  She also hosts events for International Student Organization, and works as an international student outreach coordinator and study-abroad student aide for the Roukema Center.  Sandy also helps other students as an ASB management statistics tutor.

“I hope to attend a graduate school to earn a master’s degree in Finance and pursue my goal of becoming a financial planner.”



2017 Recipients

Anusha Basnet

Anusha Basnet is an Economics major from Kathmandu, Nepal.  She is a Peer Facilitator and member of the International Student Organization.


Princep Shah

Princep Shah of Nepal is a Economics and Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance, and Math minor.  He has a 4.0 GPA.

Princep has been active in Student Government at Ramapo, where he is the Student Governor as well as a member of the ASB Dean’s Advisory Council.   He is also a Resident Assistant, and an active member of the Finance and Investment Clubs, along with honor societies such as Phi Beta Delta, Rho Alpha Sigma, and New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association. He also works for the Student Activities and Revenue Management department in the Center for Student Involvement.

As part of a semester abroad, he worked as a Consumer and Wealth Management intern at Bank of Ireland in Dublin.

Anupama Upadhyay

“This scholarship shows support and motivates me to be determined and work hard to achieve my goals,” said Anupama Upadhyay from Kathmandu, Nepal. Anupama is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and an Economics minor. She has a 4.0 GPA and has been on the Dean’s list since freshman year. She was also inducted into Order of Omega.

At Ramapo, she has been active in several organizations and activities, including Theta Nu Xi, the Yoga Club and SHRM. As a part of Theta Nu Xi, she plans and organizes events that aim to make a positive impact on campus through promotion of scholarship, leadership, service, sisterhood and multiculturalism. Anupama also works on campus as a student aide for Student Activities Revenue Management. She has also worked at a co-op internship at Cases By Source.  After Ramapo, she plans to attend graduate school.


Plamena Bletsova

Plamena Bletsova, an international student from Bulgaria, is pursuing a double major in Economics and Mathematics and a minor in Psychology. She has a 3.6 GPA. Plamena is a Presidential Scholar, consistently makes the Dean’s List, is a member of several honors societies, and the recipient of the Outstanding Presentation Award at the 2016 Garden State Undergraduate Mathematics Conference.

At Ramapo, Plamena is the President of both the Math Club and the International Students Organization, and serves as a senator in the Student Government Association.

She has also been involved in the Mathematical Association of America and the American Mathematical Society.  She has taken part in the Consortium for Mathematics and its applications (COMAP)- organized competitions and conferences, including the Mathematical Contest in Modeling.

She hopes to pursue a career of finance in the future, and become a PhD in mathematical finance.


Achyut Gautam

Achyut Gautam of Kathmandu, Nepal is a sophomore pursuing a major in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Mathematics and Economics. He is also enrolled in the college Honors Program and has a GPA of 3.91.

He’s involved in multiple clubs and organizations on campus, including the Student Government Association (SGA), the International Student Organization (ISO), the Finance Club and the Civic and Community Engagement Center.

“As a student of Ramapo, I am confident that I will continue to grow more confident as a leader, accomplish my academic goals, and learn different invaluable life skills,” said Achyut.  In addition to his academic pursuits, he started working on a social venture to serve the communities of Nepal and plans to complete it by the end of 2017.



2016 Recipients

Alicia Cahill

Alicia Cahill of Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in International Business.  She has a 3.95 GPA and is a part of Ramapo’s Honor’s Program.  She is active in Sigma Delta Tau Sorority and Enactus, and is a student advisor to the dean of the business school.  She also served as Vice President of Recruitment for her sorority.  Alicia is currently interning at Indeed.com in New York City.

“This summer before entering the real world, I plan on spending my summer in Vietnam volunteering at an orphanage for disabled orphans affected by Agent Orange.  Because of this generous scholarship, I am able to save extra money for my volunteer trip.”


Joseph Conciatori

Joseph Conciatori of Netcong, NJ is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing. He has a 3.775 GPA and has made the Dean’s List three times.

Joseph was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.

At Ramapo, Joseph has been active in several organizations and activities, including Colleges Against Cancer/Relay for Life, Active Minds, and Campus Crusade for Christ. He served as the captain of his Relay for Life team.

Joseph has also been involved in off campus activities and organizations, including serving as a volunteer at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey and as a Vacation Bible School leader at Grace Church in Roxbury, NJ.


Gelline De Guzman

Gelline De Guzman of Elmwood Park, NJ is an Accounting major with an Economics and International Business double minor. She has a 3.83 GPA. Gelline is a Presidential Scholar and was inducted into Golden Key and Beta Gamma Sigma.

At Ramapo, Gelline has been active in several organizations, including Enactus, Alpha Kappa Psi and the ASB Dean’s Advisory Council. She is currently co-president of Enactus and has served as the treasurer for SGA.

Gelline has also volunteered for Gawad Kalinga, a Philippine-based poverty alleviation organization.


Keith Ellebracht

Keith Ellebracht of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ is an Accounting major. He has a 3.8 GPA and is a member of the Alpha Lamda Delta Honor Society.

At Ramapo, Keith has been active in several organizations and activities, including RASA, the College Honors Program, and Residence Life. He serves as a Student Executive Board Member for the College Honors Program, and has also been both a Resident Assistant and an Assistant Residence Director in Bischoff Hall.


Amauris Hernandez

Amauris Hernandez of Bergenfield, NJ is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Finance, and an international business minor. He has a 3.9 GPA, is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society and a recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. Amauris was also offered membership for the Golden Key International Honor Society and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

At Ramapo, Amauris has been an active member of the Accounting, Wrestling, and Spanish Clubs.


Chaim Pantierer

Chaim Pantierer of Chestnut Ridge, NY is an Accounting major with a 3.96 GPA.  Chaim has been inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and Golden Key International Honour Society, and has been on the Dean’s List all semesters.

Chaim has been active in Hillel at Ramapo and at Tomchei Shabbos of Rockland County where he served as a mentor for a teenager whose father passed away.


Christal Torres

Christal Torres of West Milford, NJ is a Business Administration major with a concentration in Marketing. She has a 3.96 GPA. Christal achieved Dean’s List status for the fall and spring 2014 semesters and was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta first-year Honor Society.

At Ramapo, Christal has been active in several organizations and activities, including the Ramapo Admissions Student Ambassadors, Enactus club, and the Alpha Kappa Psi professional business fraternity.


Josef Weikl

Josef Weikl of Ridgefield, NJ is an Economics major and Mathematics minor. He has a 3.86 GPA and is a member of the Rho Alpha Sigma, Omicron Delta Epsilon, Beta Gamma Sigma, Chi Alpha Sigma, Golden Key International and Alpha Lambda Delta honor societies.

At Ramapo, Josef is active in several organizations and activities, including RASA and the Student Government Association.  He currently serves as the Student Trustee on the Ramapo Board of Trustees, and is a Resident Assistant in the College Park Apartments.

Josef has interned for UBS Financial Services in Paramus, NJ and the Atlantic Baseball Confederation College League (ABCCL).

Anna Citarella

Anna Elise Citarella of Byram, N.J. is a business administration major with a concentration in marketing. She has a 3.7 grade point average. She has been on the Dean’s List every semester she has been enrolled in college.

Anna is currently interning at a marketing company in New York City and hopes to pursue her career there upon her graduation from Ramapo College in May.

Joana Gerbi

Joana Gerbi of Paramus, N.J. is an international business major with a concentration in information technology management. She has a 3.7 grade point average. Joana was inducted into the Golden Key International Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, and Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society.

At Ramapo, Joana has been active in several organizations and activities, including the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program.

Joana has also been involved in off –campus activities and organizations, including serving as a volunteer for various senior care facilities in her hometown of Paramus, N.J.

 

Keith Ellebracht

 

Keith Ellebracht of Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. is an accounting major and an international business minor.

He currently has a 3.8 grade point average, and is part of Alpha Lambda Delta.

At Ramapo, Keith has been active in several organizations and activities, including Residence Life, RASA, and the Ramapo Honors Program. He is currently a Resident Assistant in Bischoff Hall, will be an Assistant Resident Director in Bischoff Hall starting in the fall, and is on the student executive board for the Honors Program.

Keith is also involved in off campus activities and organizations, such as Meals With a Mission.

 

Jason Guzman

Jason Guzman of Teaneck, N.J. is a business administration major with a concentration in marketing. He has a 3.89 grade point average and has recently been extended offers to join both the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society.

At Ramapo, Jason has been involved in various Ramapo organizations including the student business organization Enactus and RCTV.

Jason has also been involved in off-campus activities and organizations, such as serving as a volunteer with the Church of St. Anastasia and working on the organizing committee of the Teaneck International Film Festival.

Charles Schreiber

Charlie Schreiber of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., is a finance major and an economics minor. He has a 3.7 grade point average and is a member of the Golden Key Honors Society.

At Ramapo, Charlie has been active in several organizations and activities, including Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, and the Ramapo Rock Climbing Team.

Charlie has also been involved in off –campus activities and organizations, including: being an athlete and ambassador for The North Face, and running his company InvestorsCorner.org.
