Dr. Allen and Rima Demby created the Demby Family Scholarship Fund in December of 2014. Their commitment funds a motivated student with financial need who meets college entrance requirements. The Demby family hopes to help students who do not have the means to earn a college degree without financial assistance.

Dr. Demby retired from practicing ophthalmology and then began a second career as an investment advisor. Dr. and Mrs. Demby have been supporters of Ramapo College, and have supported many other organizations committed to helping people in need.

Pedro Vera

Pedro C. Vera of Paterson, NJ is a Biology Major. He has a 3.775 GPA.  Pedro has been on the Dean’s List, and was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars as well as the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.

Pedro has been a volunteer at Teaneck Tutoring, the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne, the Salvation Army in Paterson, and has also made safety blankets for the victims in domestic violence shelters.
