Jackie Pascale

Jackie Pascale of Parsippany, N.J. is a Literature major with a Creative Writing concentration getting her Secondary Education Teacher Certification. She proudly maintains a 3.88 GPA.

She plans on becoming a high school English teacher and short story writer post-graduation. Jackie is most proud of winning Best Prose Piece in the 2019 edition of Trillium, Ramapo’s literary magazine, and the acceptance of her poster presentation on international poetry for Ramapo’s Scholar’s Day 2020.

At Ramapo, Jackie is currently the President of Sigma Tau Delta, the Literature Honor Society, and the New Member Educator of Alpha Phi Omega, the on-campus community service fraternity. Additionally, Jackie has worked as a Resident Assistant whereby she is a member of Rho Alpha Sigma, the Resident Assistant Honor Society.

Off-campus, Jackie is the co-founder and head counselor of Silver Star Acting Camp, a summer day camp for kids and young adults with disabilities; she has been running it annually since 2014. Jackie also has worked as a barista/salesperson at Heavenly Temptations, a small business café and gift shop in Boonton, N.J., for the past five years.

Barnett, Barbara Memorial Scholarship

The Barbara Barnett Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Beth Barnett, who served as Provost of Ramapo College, in memory of her sister.  It is awarded to a Literature major with a GPA of 3.5 or greater.

This recipient is selected by the Dean of the School of Humanities and Global Studies in consultation with the Literature faculty convening group.
