Alexa Zavlek

“My father attended Ramapo in the seventies, and is the inspiration for my love of literature,”  says Alexa Zavlek from Bloomingdale, N.J.  She is proud of her academic achievements and the relationships she has developed with her peers and professors.  Alexa plans to continue her education, and earn a master’s degree in Literature.

She is a member of the Literature Honor Society on campus, Sigma Tau Delta, and has participated in bake sales for charity and in the Banned Books Week.

Alexa has also been involved in CASA, a non-profit advocacy organization for children, for almost a decade.

She has a 3.9 GPA.

Barnett, Barbara Memorial Scholarship

The Barbara Barnett Memorial Scholarship was established by Dr. Beth Barnett, who served as Provost of Ramapo College, in memory of her sister.  It is awarded to a Literature major with a GPA of 3.5 or greater.

This recipient is selected by the Dean of the School of Humanities and Global Studies in consultation with the Literature faculty convening group.
