RN – BSN Program / Generic BSN


The RN/BSN curriculum focuses on the further professional education of the associate or diploma prepared nurse.

  • For graduates of ACEN accredited associate degree programs, transfer credits from the previous associated degree academic education are granted upon admission
  • For graduates of ACEN accredited diploma programs, 30 Core credits are granted upon satisfactory completion of two RN/BSN nursing courses. If the diploma graduate received college credits as part of the diploma, these are granted in transfer. More..

The Generic BSN (pre-licensure) curriculum is designed as a 2 + 2 model with the general education requirements and the nursing pre- requisites completed in the first two-years. With a GPA of at least 2.0 and grades of “C+” or better, the students enter the nursing sequence for the next two-years. More..

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)


Ramapo College of New Jersey offers courses leading to a Master of Science in Nursing with 3 tracks offered – family nurse practitioner, nurse administration, and nursing education.

The Nursing Education, a 33 credit degree, focuses on the preparation of nurses to work as nursing faculty in higher education or as nurse educators in health agencies; and may sit for the Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) certification of the NLN.

Graduates of the Nursing Administration track, a 34 credit degree which includes 135 hr Role Practicum, are prepared for leadership and managerial positions in healthcare; and may sit for the Advanced Nurse Administrator (NEA-BC) certification of the ANCC.

Family Nurse Practitioner graduates, a 47 credit degree with 720 total role practicum hours required, are prepared service in Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner positions in hospital and independent care settings; and may sit for state licensure and FNP certification of the AANP.
