Latin Honors will be awarded to undergraduate students of Ramapo College who have met the criteria as set forth by the College.

Reason for Policy

To set forth policy to recognize undergraduate students graduating with distinction.

Graduation with Distinction for Baccalaureate Degree Recipients 

Procedure

 

Latin Honors will be awarded to undergraduate students of Ramapo College who have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) at Ramapo College, as follows:

 

3.500 – 3.699 –  cum laude

3.700 – 3.849 –  magna cum laude

3.850 – 4.000 –  summa cum laude

 

Important Note: The cumulative GPA is not rounded when Latin Honors is calculated.

Students who have graduated from Ramapo College and who return for a second baccalaureate degree are awarded Latin Honors following the procedure outlined above.

In order to be awarded a baccalaureate degree from Ramapo College, all students must submit a graduation application to the Graduation Office (grad@ramapo.edu) by the posted deadline corresponding with the graduation semester.

Those students who meet the criteria for Latin Honors will automatically be awarded Latin Honors. Latin Honors is noted on students’ diplomas and final transcripts.
