We encourage all employees to take some time during this period to review their current coverage and determine whether any changes are needed for 2027.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Check out what\u2019s new for the 2027 plan year, explore your benefits, <span class=\"il\">enroll<\/span> in webinars and compare your options!<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: center\"><a class=\"btn\" href=\"https:\/\/state-of-new-jersey.foleon.com\/2027-annual-open-enrollment\/2027-vbf-state-landing-page\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2027 Virtual Benefits Fair!\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\">What Can I Do During <span class=\"il\">Open<\/span> <span class=\"il\">Enrollment<\/span>?<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">During <span class=\"il\">Open<\/span> <span class=\"il\">Enrollment<\/span>, eligible employees may:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"il\">Enroll<\/span> in SHBP coverage if not currently <span class=\"il\">enrolled<\/span>;<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Change current medical and\/or dental plan;<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Add eligible dependents to your coverage; The incentive shall be forfeited and returned to the SHBP if you fail to remain in the tiered network plan for at least one year.\u00a0 View more information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.gov\/treasury\/pensions\/tiered-network.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tiered Plan Incentive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Dental Plans<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Dental plan options are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Dental Plan Organization (DPO) plan: Aetna DMO- Diagnostic and preventive services are covered in full with a DPO dentist. Other eligible expenses may require a copayment.\u00a0 Providers must participate with the selected DPO in order to receive coverage.\u00a0 Note: The rate for coverage under a DPO remains less expensive than the Dental Expense Plan.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Two PPO Dental Expense Plans (DEP):\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Aetna Dental Expense Plan<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Horizon Dental Expense Plan<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The DEP is a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan where members can obtain services from any dentist; however, using an in-network provider will reduce an employee\u2019s costs. Centers of Excellence Pilot Program 2027<\/h2>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Beginning in 2027, employees <span class=\"il\">enrolled<\/span> in a PPO medical plan will have access to a new Centers of Excellence (COE) Pilot Program, administered by Carrum Health.<\/p>\n<p>The program is designed to help lower your out-of-pocket costs for certain non-emergency procedures, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Diagnostic colonoscopies<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Knee and hip replacements<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Bariatric surgery<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Spinal surgery<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Heart surgery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Before scheduling one of these procedures, you must first contact Carrum Health. You will then have three options:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">COE Network Provider: $0 cost to you.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Aetna or Horizon Network Provider: starting cost for the first year is a $300 copay.<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Out-of-Network Provider: Regular out-of-network costs apply, and you may also be responsible for additional charges from the provider for costs not covered by the plans reimbursement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">If you do not wish to participate in the COE program, you may choose an HMO, HDHP, or Tiered-Network plan, which are not part of the COE Pilot Program.
