Alternative Testing Information for Faculty\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

About Alternative Testing<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Office of Specialized Services (OSS) is available to consult with faculty regarding guidance for accommodating exams for specific students in a remote environment; please contact the student’s OSS Counselor, or e-mail osstests@ramapo.edu<\/a> to connect with an Alternative Testing staff member.<\/p>\n

Fall\/Spring<\/b>: Instructors should have received an electronic copy of their students\u2019 accommodations. It includes the link for the Faculty Alternative Testing Agreement<\/em>. Instructors may consult the student\u2019s OSS counselor or Alternative Testing staff to discuss how they might accommodate alternative testing arrangements in a remote environment. For <\/span>in-person courses with on campus exams<\/strong><\/span>, proctoring assistance will be available through the Alternative Testing staff at OSS. OSS students will submit an exam reservation through OSSOnline no later than 7 days before a scheduled exam. Please refer to the Alternative Testing section of our <\/span>website<\/span><\/a> for more information. <\/span><\/p>\n

Instructor Portal:<\/strong> Instructors will have access to a new feature of OSSOnline – the Instructor Portal.\u00a0 Within the portal, you will be able to view any requested Academic Accommodations for your course(s) and areas pertaining to Alternative Testing including the Faculty Alternative Testing Agreement, exam reservations and more.\u00a0 Please refer to the OSSOnline Instructor Portal Information<\/a> page for further guidance and updates on the portal.<\/p>\n

Alternative Testing for Faculty: the Process<\/h4>\n
<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Step #1: OSS Student Requests Exam Accommodations for Your Course<\/div>
\n

Each semester, OSS students connect with their OSS Counselor to request the accommodations they are eligible for and would like to use, based on their understanding of the course requirements.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Step #2: Faculty Receive an E-mail from the Student's OSS Counselor<\/div>
\n

When a student requests these accommodations each semester, their OSS Counselor sends you an e-mail which details these accommodations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Step #3: OSS Student Connects with Faculty to Discuss Accommodations<\/div>
\n

Every semester, OSS students sign a student testing agreement to make exam reservation no later than 7 days before a scheduled exam (excluding holidays), and 14 days before final exams. Students are directed to contact you for every exam they need accommodations with you, and to follow your protocol during remote instruction.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

Faculty should contact Alternative Testing Staff if they have questions about how to best accommodate an exam for a student with alternative testing accommodations.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
