MAHWAH, N.J. – The Krame Center for Contemplative Studies and Mindful Living at Ramapo College is offering a Five-Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Graduate Course beginning Monday, March 27. The course, titled “Deepening Your Practice: Opening the Mind & Heart,” is a natural next step for those who have completed an eight-week MBSR program and wish to further deepen their mindfulness practice.
The five-session course (Mondays, March 27, April 3, 17, 24 and May 1) will explore the common obstacles that arise during mindfulness practice and learn strategies for navigating strong emotions, thoughts and feelings. Participants will learn practices that enhance one’s capacity to respond to life’s challenges with greater awareness, kindness, compassion and ease.
Each session will be from 7-9 p.m. in the York Room of the Birch Mansion on the Ramapo College campus.
Course includes an all-day meditation retreat on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Beth Sandweiss, MSW, MA, LPC, will lead the course. Ms. Sandweiss trained as an MBSR Instructor through the Center for Mindfulness at UMass Medical School, in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and with the Mindful Schools Program.
This course is for graduates of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction 8-week course. Cost for the course is $475. Discounts are available to educators and nurses. Registration is required.
