Family Nurse Practitioner Track (51 credits) – 3 years, part time<\/span><\/p>\n

Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Track (48 credits) – 2.5 years, part time
\n<\/span>Nursing Administration Track (34 credits)\u00a0 – 2 years, part time<\/span>
\n<\/span>Nursing Education Track (34 credits) – 2 years, part time<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Is the program offered in person, online, or in a hybrid format?<\/div>
\n

All 4 MSN tracks are cohort based and offered in a hybrid format with about 95% of the coursework being completed online. Students are required to come to campus about 3-5 times per semester. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>What does cohort mean?<\/div>
\n

A cohort is a group of students who move through a program together, taking each course at the same time, and completing the program together.\u00a0 In the process, students develop relationships which provide mutual support during the program and yield future networking opportunities as well as lasting friendships.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>When and how often do classes meet?<\/div>
\n

Classes in the MSN program are delivered in a hybrid format with the majority of the work being completed online. Students will be required to come to campus 3-5 times per semester for in person meetings. In-person meeting dates are determined at time of registration.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I take courses at my own pace?<\/div>
\n

You may choose to participate in the cohort or take classes at your own pace. All courses must be completed within 5 years. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>What are the qualifications to apply to the program?<\/div>
\n

Students must have a baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution and a minimum GPA of a 3.0. Students must also have a valid, state issued RN license and two or more years of acute care work experience. Additional requirements can be found here<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I continue to work full time while earning my MSN degree?<\/div>
\n

Yes, many students continue to work full time while pursuing their MSN degree due to the flexible design of the program.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>How many hours of practicum are required?<\/div>
\n

Family Nurse Practitioner Track – 750 hours<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>How and where are the practicum hours assigned?<\/div>
\n

Working one on one with the Asst. Dean of Nursing and Nursing Advisor, you will be placed in a hospital setting that maximizes your learning and potential to succeed. You may also identify your own preceptor.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I do my practicum at my place of employment?<\/div>
\n

Possibly. Your place of employment will need to be evaluated by the MSN Program Director to make sure it meets all required criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Do you accept transfer credits from other schools?<\/div>
\n

Yes. However, graduate transfer credits must be reviewed and approved by the MSN Program Director.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>How much does the program cost?<\/div>
\n

Tuition is approximately <\/span>$895 <\/span>per credit.<\/span>
\n<\/span>
\n<\/span>Estimated total cost for the Family Nurse Practitioner Track (51 credits) = <\/span>$45,600<\/span><\/p>\n

Estimated total cost for the Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Track (48 credits)= <\/span>$43,000<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span>Can graduate students apply for Financial Aid?<\/div>
\n

Yes, Graduate students may borrow up to $20,500 annually under the Federal Direct Stafford Loan programs.<\/span>
\n<\/span>To qualify for a Federal Direct Stafford loan, graduate students must be enrolled for at least 6 credit hours per semester.\u00a0 Students enrolled for less than 6 credits may consider an alternative loan.<\/span>
