It enables learners to master content and extend their investigations, become more self-directed, and assume greater control over their own learning.” (ACRL Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education<\/a>\n<\/p>\n The Three Core Information Literacy Competencies for all Ramapo students are: At the 2008 Spring Faculty In-Service, Potter information literacy librarians introduced a new Information Literacy Progressive Program. The Program outlined a strategy for information literacy in General Education as well as the Majors. Currently, information literacy librarians are assessing the new program and working with faculty on integrating the program throughout the curriculum.
