Job Summary<\/h2>\n

Under the supervision of Circulation Supervisors and Systems Administrator, oversees the library\u2019s computer lab and provides technical assistance to students, faculty, and other library patrons. <\/p>\n

Duties<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Assists patrons with the use of library databases, e-reserves, internet, email, Moodle, and other software applications.<\/li>\n
  2. Enforces lab policies; monitors\/prevents the consumption of food and drink, as well as the use of cell phones.<\/li>\n
  3. Keeps ELF cabinet stocked with printer paper.<\/li>\n
  4. Identify and report malfunctioning equipment to Library Systems Administrator.<\/li>\n
  5. Provides printer maintenance including toner installation, printer troubleshooting, printer settings adjustment, paper jam removals, toner cartridge installation and reloading paper trays, etc.<\/li>\n
  6. Implements ELF opening and closing procedures as necessary.<\/li>\n
  7. Monitors student activities in the computer lab for the purpose of maintaining a safe environment that is conducive to learning.<\/li>\n
  8. Performs routine and preventive maintenance of computer lab equipment.<\/li>\n
  9. Ensures that digital information storage devices (USB drives, CDs, DVDs, etc.), documents, identification or personal property left behind by patrons are submitted to Circulation Staff.<\/li>\n
  10. Performs basic hardware and software computer troubleshooting and networking issues.<\/li>\n
  11. Assists patrons in printing jobs and use of Print Release station; deletes print jobs in the network print queue as necessary.<\/li>\n
  12. Assists new students with creating Ramapo College email accounts and resetting passwords.<\/li>\n
  13. Maintains a log of paper consumption and toner replacement.<\/li>\n
  14. Answers questions regarding ELF hours, policies, etc.<\/li>\n
  15. Keeps computer lab neat and clean.<\/li>\n
  16. Performs additional duties, including but not limited to special projects, as assigned.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Education<\/h2>\n

    Must be enrolled at Ramapo College of NJ.<\/p>\n

    Experience<\/h2>\n
      \n
    1. Experience with MS-Office products, Windows operating system basics, some knowledge of PC hardware preferred.<\/li>\n
    2. Prior library work experience a plus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Additional Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities<\/h2>\n
        \n
      1. Strong customer service experience and communication skills.<\/li>\n
      2. Must be dependable and have ability to interact with lab users.<\/li>\n
      3. Must be able to enforce lab policies.<\/li>\n
      4. Able to work independently with limited to minimum supervision and be willing to learn new tasks.<\/li>\n
      5. Must have strong work ethic and reliable attendance.<\/li>\n
      6. Pays attention to detail.<\/li>\n
