Grounded in science, MBSR is the most widely researched mind-body program in the world. Participants in this eight-session Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course will gain a first hand introduction to mindfulness practices involving breathing and gentle body movements and methods for incorporating mindfulness practices into their everyday life and work. This program, which originated at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, has been on the cutting edge of mind/body integration medicine for 30 years. This unique technique helps participants develop an awareness of their bodies and their emotions and facilitates their ability to thoughtfully respond instead of react to situations.
The course will be led by Catherine Krame and runs Wednesdays from February 7 to April 4 from 7-9:30pm in ASB 420. It includes an all-day retreat on Sunday, March 25 from 9am-4pm.
