KRAME CENTER FOR CONTEMPLATIVE STUDIES AND MINDFUL LIVING AT RAMAPO COLLEGE OF NEW JERSEY-MEDITATION, MINDFULNESS AND SPEAKER OFFERINGS INCLUDING MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR) COURSE

The Krame Center at Ramapo College of New Jersey has partnered with the Center for Mindfulness (CFM) at UMass Medical School. CFM has been a pioneer in the mindfulness movement and in bringing Jon Kabat-Zinn’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course to tens of thousands of people.

In addition to our speaker series and 8-Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses, the Krame Center offers Silent Retreats and the MBSR Fundamentals Professional Education program for future MBSR instructors,  a free Introduction to Mindfulness workshop and special programs for educators.  Learn to meditate or expand your practice at our weekly meditation sessions.  Our CFM partnership enables us to offer many new and exciting mindfulness programs to the greater New York/New Jersey community.

The first step toward enrollment in the 8- Week MIndfulness-Based Stress Reduction course is an Orientation Session – before the start of classes. These Orientation Sessions are free of charge and are required of all participants before beginning the program. During these sessions you will have the opportunity to:

Learn about the Stress Reduction Program and explore whether it is right for you
Meet our program instructors
Experience, first-hand, mindfulness methods and approaches you will be learning during the program
Confirm your place in the class that fits into your schedule and enroll in the program.

This orientation will be taught by Carol Bowman, Ed.D.

Participants in this eight-session Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course will gain a first hand introduction to mindfulness practices involving breathing and gentle body movements and methods for incorporating mindfulness practices into their everyday life and work.  This Tuesday evening MBSR course will meet from June 6-August 1 from 7-9:30pm and includes a full day retreat on July 23 from 9am-4pm. See webpage for details, tuition and registration. This course is taught by Beth Sandweiss, MSW, MA.
