Professor of\u00a0Africana Studies<\/a> and Director of the Program on Race, Science and Society at University of Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n Presented by Amanda Roberti, Assistant Professor of \u00a0Political Science, Ramapo College of New Jersey.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n A symposium supported by the Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language federal grant, awarded by the US Department of Education<\/em><\/p>\n Thanks to an Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language (UISFL) grant from the U.S. Department of Education, Ramapo College is pleased to hold a one day symposium in which scholars, professionals and administrators will come together to address diversity in both health care and human services as well as the classroom. The aim is to gain a greater understanding of best practices from different health care and academic institutions in order to better comprehend the challenges, as well as the benefits, of an inclusive approach. This is, in part, due to its unique interdisciplinary academic structure, its size of more than 6,200 students and its pastoral setting in the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains on the New Jersey\/New York border.<\/p>\n Undergraduate students may choose to concentrate their studies in one of five schools with more than 539 course offerings and 36 academic programs.
